Stouthouse

Stouthouse Stout's stained glass installations, & focus on environmental stewardship. Weldon J. STOUTHOUSE contains six stained glass installations.

Stouthouse was founded in 2013 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation to establish an artist residency, maintain the STAF art collection, preserve legacy of Weldon J. Stout knew it was time to leave Pompano, Fl when the bumper to bumper traffic no longer allowed him a walk to the hardware store. Well into his 60's, He discovered Northern Indian River County, purchased an acre, and cleared enoug

h land to build the house and art studio he designed. Some of which were inspired by Alphonse Mucha, Father of the Art Nouveau movement. Weldon loved the Chesapeake Bay Experience. He carried with him always the love of this light, its reflections on the water and had an appreciation for the rich diversity of the shoreline. Weldon said the reflections from the stained glass were bonuses. Weldon's stained glass is ALIVE! He married interdisciplinary artist, Quentin Walter and their home became an art house. Every space filled in with sculpture, textile, collage, print, watercolor, photography etc.. Before Weldon passed, he and Quentin wanted to preserve the art collection and his stained glass works, create an international artist residency program, while focusing on environmental stewardship. Weldon and Quentins dream became STOUTHOUSE. a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation.
