If you want to know what makes this rescue run, it's people like Tammy and Andrea. 💛

This week's spotlight goes to two of our most devoted fosters, who have opened their home to more dogs than we can count. They're the kind of fosters every rescue dreams of, steady, loving, and always ready to say yes.

A few weeks ago, they came to The Landing to drop off their most recent foster, who's officially ready to be adopted (yay!), and instead of heading home for a well-earned break… they turned right around and took sweet Nutella home to foster her instead.

They didn't even take a beat. One dog headed off to their happy ending, and the next one came home with them that very same day.

That is why fosters are the heart of Touch of Grey. Their compassion and generosity is what lets us keep saying yes, keep pulling dogs from shelters, and keep making room for the next one who needs us.

Tammy and Andrea, thank you for everything you do, over and over again. We're so lucky to have you.

We’ve got a new vet partner, and they’re kicking things off in the best way possible. 🎃🐾

Melbourne Beach Animal Hospital is hosting Paws & Pumpkins this Halloween, with a special collab benefitting Touch of Grey. We’re so grateful to have them in our corner, and we’d love for you to come celebrate with us!

There’s a full afternoon planned for the whole family (two-legged and four-legged members welcome):

🏆 Costume contest at 1:30, so dress those pups to impress

Melbourne Beach Animal Hospital is teaming up with The Salty Artist's Studio to create on-site pet nose and paw print keepsakes, just $5 per print, with all proceeds going straight to our senior and special needs pups at Touch of Grey.

Come spend a Halloween afternoon with us, snap some photos, make a keepsake, and know that every dollar helps our senior and special-needs dogs. We hope to see you there! 🐶

They say good things come in threes, and this week, we can't help but agree...

Bear, Lola, and Koa have all been ADOPTED! 🎉

Three dogs, three families, three happy endings, all in one week! Each of these sweethearts waited for the right people, and one by one, found their furever.

Adoptions are doubly (or should we say, triply) exciting for us because each one makes room for another senior or special needs dog to relax and decompress while we work on finding their forever homes.

Congratulations to Bear, Lola, and Koa, and to the families lucky enough to love them. 💛

Thank you to everyone who shared, rooted, fostered, and believed in these three. We couldn't do this without you!

Sunday Story: The Landing Isn't for Everyone. Just Ask Howie.

When we created The Landing, we wanted a safe place for senior and special needs dogs to decompress, receive care, and transition into foster or adoptive homes. What we didn’t consider was that not every dog would be a good fit for The Landing.

Meet Howie 💙

Howie is approximately 9 years old, incredibly sweet, house-trained, loves his toys, enjoys walks, and would happily spend his entire day snuggled up next to his favorite human.

Howie prefers to keep his toys and his people all to himself, which makes sharing a home with other animals a challenge.

So to keep everyone safe, Howie has his own bedroom. Sounds like a pretty amazing step up from shelter life, right? It is. But Howie doesn’t care about having his own bedroom. He just wants someone to share it with.

When Howie is left alone, he howls, creating stress for both him and the other dogs. And that’s the exact opposite of the peaceful, comforting environment we created The Landing to be.

Howie desperately needs a foster or adopter.

Someone without other animals, who spends a good amount of time at home, appreciates a loyal companion, and understands that this sweet senior boy may need some patience and help learning that his people will always come back.

Finding Howie a foster or adopter would allow us to save another dog, but that’s not what this is about. It’s about doing right by Howie, and preserving the mission of The Landing as a peaceful and safe environment for the dogs who land there.

Can’t Foster, but want to be a snuggle buddy? We are now accepting volunteers to come watch Netflix, read a book, or work remotely. Howie’s only requirement is that you don’t leave him out of your plans. 😆

What a special day at The Landing. 🐾

Today we hosted our very first annual Blessing of the Animals, and it was everything we hoped it would be. We started the morning with an in-person blessing at 10:00, followed by a drive-through blessing at 11:00, and by the end of it we’d blessed over 15 dogs!

A huge thank you to our partners at Hospice of Health First who made the whole event possible, we couldn’t have done it without you. We’re so grateful for your love of this community and the animals in it. 💛

Days like this are exactly what we pictured when we dreamed up The Landing, a place to gather, to celebrate the animals we love, and to honor the bond we share with them.

We’re already looking ahead to next year… and if we’re putting it out into the universe, we wouldn’t mind blessing a few goats. Maybe some chickens too, the more the merrier! 🐐🐔

We're getting in the Halloween spirit, and we're bringing the dogs with us. 🎃🐾

On October 24, we're joining Franklin's Friends for their HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Walk-a-Thon and Canine Costume Contest at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs, and we'd love for you to come with us.

There are tons of fun activities planned: a dog walk, doggie costume contest, pet-friendly vendors (including a TOG tent), adoptable dogs, raffles, food trucks, and more. Best of all, every dollar raised benefits Franklin's Friends and local animal welfare, including rescues like ours 💙

Howie is our Adoptable Dog of the Week! 🐾 If you’ve spent any time at The Landing, you might just recognize his handsome face.

Howie is around 8 or 9 years old, and he’s a friendly, toy-loving boy with a whole lot of affection to give. Howie bonds very deeply with his person, so he’d be happiest with someone who’s home a lot, like a retiree or a work-from-home owner he can shadow all day long.

He’d do best as the only dog in the home. He can get along with other dogs, but he needs slow, careful introductions to feel comfortable, and he is not a fan of cats. Give him a home where he’s the one and only, and you’ll have a devoted best friend for life.

Right now Howie is staying with us at The Landing, and we’d love to get him into a home environment where he can really settle in. We’re open to a few different paths here: a temporary foster, a foster-to-adopt, or a forever adopter. If any of those sound like you, we want to hear from you!

This sweet boy is ready for his person. Could that be you? 💛

This Saturday, we're opening up The Landing for our Blessing of the Animals, and we'd love for you and your pets to join us.

In honor of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, we'll be gathering to celebrate and bless the companions who share our lives. Dogs, cats, the old, the young, the perfectly behaved and the not-so-much, every pet is welcome here.

Whether you come for the blessing itself, to meet our senior pups, or just to spend a morning surrounded by animal lovers, there's a place for you. It's a simple, meaningful way to honor the ones who give us so much.

Bring your pets (leashed or safely carried, please), bring your family, and come be part of it.

Loki has been ADOPTED! 🎉

Loki came to us from a shelter where he'd landed on the last chance list after an infection following his neuter surgery. We pulled him, figured out he also had low thyroid, got him on the right medication, and watched this boy absolutely come back to life.

And what a life it's turned out to be. After everything he went through, Loki is officially home with a family of his very own.

This is the part we never get tired of. A dog who was nearly out of time, now curled up somewhere warm, loved, and exactly where he belongs.

Congratulations, Loki. You earned every bit of this. 💛

To everyone who followed along, shared his story, and rooted for him, thank you. This is what it's all for. 🐾
