WOW. We are still trying to process everything that happened on Saturday.

Because of this incredible community, Touch of Grey Rescue raised over $10,000 to support senior and special needs dogs in need. 😱🙏🩶🐾

A special thank you to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Wayne Ivey for helping us kick off the event and for their continued support of rescue efforts throughout our community.

Saturday was about so much more than fundraising. It was an opportunity to tell our story, and share a very special video unveiling our vision for The Landing. Those who attended were the first to see it, and we can’t wait to share it with all of you in the coming weeks.

Thank you also to our amazing sponsors and supporters:

🐾 Lucky Goat Coffee Lucky Goat Coffee
🐾 VEG ER
🐾 Pablo’s Paw Prints Pablo's Paw Prints
🐾 Pet Passages Pet Passages
🐾 Hemingway’s Tavern
🐾 Love Bugs Bakery

And of course, thank you to everyone who stopped by Saint’s Kissing Booth and helped make the day so memorable.

What we witnessed on Saturday was proof that this mission is bigger than any one person. To everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, shared our posts, signed up to help, or simply showed up to learn more about our mission - Thank You.

We could not do this without you.

**Courtesy Post**

Hello to all of our Weimaraner lovers! Please meet Whiskey and Cider. Whiskey is 11 years old, male, neutered, and weighs 65 pounds. He is dark colored. Cider is 11 years old, female, spayed, and weighs 60 pounds. They are a bonded pair; they have been together since they were six weeks old. They are perfect dogs, but unfortunately, they are caught up in an extremely bad domestic situation. The dogs live in Panama City, and the owner is willing to transport them to a good home.

Both dogs have recently been seen by the vet and are up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention. Cider does have a mass on her mammary gland, but that will be removed next week. Both dogs are housebroken, trained (both participated in board and train programs), E-Collar trained, and crate trained. They get along well with other dogs, children of all ages, but NO cats. They do like to hunt squirrels and rabbits.

They enjoy playing fetch, snuggles and going on long walks. They are very loyal, not territorial, and they rarely bark. The owner is willing to continue covering costs such as food, routine vet care, flea and tick and heartworm prevention.

If you are interested in learning more about Whiskey and Cider, please contact their owner via email at [email protected] or text 916-320-1270.

**This will be a direct adoption from the owner.
**Please refrain from negative comments.

Listen to us every Thursday at 1:30pm for Canines and Coffee Talk with our friends 98.5 The Beach 🐾

Today we talked about Rocco, who is a little different than many of the dogs we typically save. Rocco has all four legs, both eyes, and absolutely no medical conditions whatsoever! He’s incredibly sweet, easy-going, and more than ready for his forever home. At 22 lbs he’s the perfect size.

If you think you might be a match for Rocco, we’d love for you to submit an application through our website. Help us give another old soul a new beginning. 🩶🐾

✨ Introducing Golden Souls ✨

At Touch of Grey Rescue, we believe senior dogs deserve comfort, love, and purpose in their final chapters. But we also believe senior citizens deserve the healing, calming, and joyful presence of dogs too.

Golden Souls was created through The Landing to help bring those worlds together.

Through mission-driven gatherings, craft activities, and community partnerships, Golden Souls will focus on creating meaningful connections between people and dogs while helping support senior and special needs rescue dogs along the way.

This Saturday Rally for Rescue: A Community Call for Action we’ll officially share the vision behind Golden Souls and how our friend Nancy helped to reinvigorate a movement centered around connection.

“My Rainbow Bridge dream for Touch of Grey Rescue came true… just not in the way I expected. 🌈 ✨🏡

It’s a long story…one full of unexpected twists, hard conversations, heartbreak, but ultimately - a beautiful new beginning.

Over a year ago, an incredible supporter approached me and shared that she wanted to leave Touch of Grey Rescue a significant gift in her will to help build my dream of a Rainbow Bridge and intake center for senior dogs. But she decided she wanted to leave that gift now…and be a part of it 💕

At the time, life looked very different for me.

I had stepped back from the day-to-day of rescue after my husband and I adopted a special needs child who needed more support and stability. That brought us to upstate New York and me back into a full-time career so I could help financially support our family.

While I was in NY, our existing board was already carrying an enormous workload keeping operations moving forward. Taking on a physical property, and everything that comes with it, just wasn’t something we had the capacity to support at that moment.

So we kept exploring ideas, trying to find a solution that would benefit the dogs while also being sustainable for the people behind the scenes.

We started looking at land. The idea was that I could manage a land development project from anywhere, while the Board could continue the important daily work of saving dogs.

We even thought we had found the perfect property… until reality hit. Massive infrastructure costs. Years of environmental reviews. Endless hurdles that would require enormous amounts of time and money, all while dogs needed help right now.

Then came more unexpected change. Board members stepping down. Me trying to balance a full-time job, rescue, family. But if there’s one thing rescue has taught me, it’s that sometimes the hardest things lead you exactly where you were meant to go. 🪐

Around that same time, I picked up a blind senior dog named Doug from the shelter. I almost brought him directly to a foster home, but he didn’t appear to be a match with the resident dog. So I brought him home instead.

And for five short days, Doug experienced comfort, safety, love, good food, and peace. Then suddenly, his health declined and he began suffering multiple seizures. I had to make the difficult decision to lovingly help him to the Rainbow Bridge.

Doug reminded me why this vision mattered so much. Dogs coming from the shelter deserve a place to show us who they are, before we ask them to transition to a place that may not be appropriate for their needs.

That realization ultimately led us to The Landing.

The Landing is a donor-gifted transitional home where senior and special needs dogs can decompress, heal, be assessed, and begin again. A place that will also allow us to bring people together through education, community events, trainings, gatherings, and support for the mission we all care so deeply about.

And a place to build an absolutely spectacular rainbow bridge and Memorial Garden 🌈🪏🪴

To (AKA our Rescue Sugar Mama 🤣) thank you from ALL of us for believing in this mission and helping make this next chapter possible. And thank you for standing beside us as we build what comes next. I’m incredibly grateful you thrive in chaos 😅.

I couldn’t be happier with our team or more excited about where we are headed.”

Old souls. New beginnings. 🩶🐾

“All gave some, some gave all.” 🇺🇸

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who served our country and made the ultimate sacrifice.

Because of you, we have the freedom to do what we love - and so does Loki. 🐾

Happy Memorial Day from all of us at Touch of Grey Rescue. ❤️🤍💙

Ginger got her freedom ride today! 💕🐾

This is the face of a dog who has no idea she just entered our hospice program. With an enlarged liver and multiple masses, she is not adoptable. But that doesn’t mean she’s less than. In fact, it’s just the opposite. She deserves everything in this final chapter, and we’re committed to giving it to her.

Welcome to Touch of Grey Rescue Ginger. We’ve got you for as long as you’re willing to stay 🩶
