The Medway Friend of Performing Arts is an organization made up of parents and community members that advocates performing arts education through a variety of efforts. We believe that performing arts are basic elements to the human experience. The study of these arts allows for the development of aesthetic sensitivity, self-expression and creativity. Through participation, it supports academic ski
lls and builds self-discipline, self-reliance and a strong sense of teamwork. By encouraging these values, the performing arts help to build community, preserve and honor cultural heritages, and celebrate life. We do this by:
1. Stimulating interest in and encouraging broad participation in performing arts programs by the students of Medway Public Schools at all levels.
2. Soliciting and raising funds from the general public and otherwise offering assistance and support for students' curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities in the performing arts.
3. Working with school staff and administrators to improve programs.
4. Communicating with Medway families about performing arts events in the schools. The MFPA meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7pm virtually. Email [email protected] for more information or to join our mailing list.
