The average price of gas is costing over $4 per gallon in Massachusetts. Unfortunately, there is no end in sight for these growing prices.

That’s why I am calling for a temporary suspension of the gas tax until this crisis is over. This action would provide an instant savings to our families trying to make ends meet.

Additionally, I will support a change to policy that will trigger a suspension of the gas tax whenever gas reaches $4 per gallon.

By a vote of 28-127, the MA House just voted down Rep. Kelly Pease's (R-Westfield) amendment to eliminate a new added fee on natural gas customers. The 127 NO votes are in favor of a new fee on natural gas customers. The 28 YES votes were in favor of an amendment to eliminate the new fee. The new fee is approximately an additional $10 per year. Remember this vote when you complain about the high cost of heating your home and business.
