Walking Warriors

We would like to update our new Facebook followers on our mission. We are the Walking Warriors; a team committed to helping Taylor County residents during their struggle with cancer. We want to let these victims know they are not alone during their cancer battle. We are a group under the umbrella of Taylor County Moving For A Cure. This foundation is a 501c3 charity, the board members are all volunteers, and all funds are dispersed within Taylor County.
We support TCMC for a couple of reasons. All funds raised remain local and are dispersed to community members who are fighting cancer and need financial support during their recovery. We are committed to helping our friends and neighbors through this difficult journey by volunteering our time and bringing the community together to show support. No one should fight alone. Everyone knows someone who is dealing with cancer or has had treatments. If someone has cancer, the struggle affects family members, friends and even co-workers.

Exciting News! Mark your calendars! We set the date for our annual Walking Warriors event. We will have a UTV Poker Run Ride with raffles, 50/50 drawing, DJ and food on Saturday, October 10th. Jake from Fuchsy's Crossroads LLC has agreed to sponsor our event. Stay tuned for more information. Like us and share with your friends and fellow UTV riders. Sometimes life has to break wide before we realize what truly matters.

Cancer has a way of stripping everything down.
The noise.
The rushing.
The little things we thought were so important.

And suddenly, what matters becomes painfully clear:
the people who show up,
the moments we used to take for granted,
the strength we never knew we had,
and the life we are still here to live.

It doesn’t make the falling apart easy.
But sometimes, even in the mess, we find what matters most. 💗

With a heavy heart 💔 and tears 😢 in my eyes, I tell you that nothing is more painful than trying to smile and stay positive but after many tests, injections, chemo and radiation, a person changes physically and can suffer from sadness. I know a lot of you don’t give a crap on this post because cancer hasn’t touched you. You don't know what it's like to have fought the fight, or to have a loved one fighting or has cancer. 💛💗

We had perfect weather for the TCMC event! Walking Warriors team raised $19,390.00 dollars for this cause! We are able to help 19 people who are seeking cancer treatment. TCMC will be able to offer 80 individuals with $1,000 stipends. We would like to thank everyone who supported our cause, we are humbled by the community support. A special thank you to our team members and volunteers, we could not do this without your dedication and commitment!
