Sorry for the late post, life gets busy and I just haven’t had time.

First of all, I want to thank everyone for another very successful year for the CWBA. I believe we had almost all the tourneys full or very very close to being full. We appreciate everyone that comes out and fishes our series. We try to run a competitive, but fun and fair tournament series. We put a lot of effort into making this a successful series, but in the end, the anglers and their families are the ones that keep it going. Thank you for fishing with us in 2026. We are already looking to make the CWBA better for 2027. If anyone ever wants to suggest anything or have ideas on how we can improve, please reach out to me. I’m willing to listen and discuss anything if it makes us better. Thank you.

October 3rd, 2026.

Our 6th and final tourney of 2026 was on beautiful Lac Courte Oreilles (LCO). I would say we had beautiful weather but that wasn’t the case for this tourney. For the 3rd year in a row this tourney brought high winds that blew straight into the landing. If someone could figure out how to turn the wind machine off for this tourney, it would be appreciated! Several teams even decided not to fish this year because of the rough water conditions. This year was actually a little better as far as wind compared to the previous 2 years, but none the less, the waves were big enough. The WIND/rain at the weigh-in didn’t allow us to put up our results board or the tent.

The team of Chad and Whitney Emerson found the right fish and came away with the win. They won by 2.83 pounds. Congrats to Chad and Whitney!!!

Special thanks to my wife Darla for taking the pics at the weigh ins and also Amanda Richardson for filling in on tourneys when Darla wasn’t able to make it. Also, thanks to all the helpers she recruits to help her take pics (Grant, Gavin. Ashley, and anyone else I missed).

A huge thank you to the resorts who hosted CWBA weigh-ins this year! Big Musky Resort and Pioneer on Long Lake. We hope you allow us to come back in 2027, we really do appreciate you letting us use your facilities!

Thank you to John Gubrud (Gumby) for always bringing extra refreshments to each tourney we host at boat landings. Much appreciated.

Thank you to our fishing families that camp with us. The weekends go by way too fast but we always look forward to the next tournament to see everyone again. I’ll get ahold of everyone for reservations for 2027 when the schedule comes out.

We are also investing in the future of the CWBA and looking at brand new Pro Tournament CS19 Pro Series scales. We plan to trade in both current scales but would consider selling them for the amount they are offering on trade. I will know more in a few weeks when I get ahold of them again and finalize a trade-in price. We have 2 scales, they are both Pro Tournament H2 scales, we have one digital 4” display w/tripod, 4 chargers and 2 hard carrying cases. These would be sold ‘as is’. If anyone is interested, please get ahold of me.

Lastly, I am looking at getting a sweatshirt, sun-shirt or hat order this winter for anyone interested in CWBA merchandise. I will post this at a later date after I talk to the company that makes them for us. I still have 4-5 red hats from this year left over. Stay tuned!

Attention anglers! Please read in entirety!

Here are the rosters for LCO on Saturday, October 3rd. If you see anything that is incorrect or needs updating, please message me.

Remember, this tourney we take off at 7:30 but if everyone is there and, in the water, we can get going a little earlier if it's safe light. We will be at the landing at about 6 to start checking boats. Please wait at the landing to start putting in until we can check your boat.

Again, we will be helping park vehicles, please park in the lot first and fill all the spots in the lot before parking on grass. If you are on the grass, guys can't swing into the stalls in the lot.

Just a reminder that the landing parking lot for this upcoming weekend on LCO will be full. Lets try to utilze the area marked in the picture the best we can and park some trucks/trailers on an angle as shown in the pic. We will have one or two guys designated to helping park and direct traffic in the morning since it will still be dark and hard to see when parking. That way we don't have anyone hit another truck or trailer.

ALSO, today at sunset is the last you can be on the water until saturday!

Attention Anglers: Statement from the CWBA.

Over the weekend I have heard of an angler being accused of cheating in the Wisco BASS year end Championship, which was a 2 day tourney on Lake Minoqua. He was witnessed to having fish in his live-well the night before the tourney and turned into the tourney officials. They called the DNR immediately, but the DNR had no one on duty in the county that night. The tourney officials went to the place he was staying at and videotaped him when they confronted him. It sounded like the involved angler did admit his plans for the fish to be used in the tourney the next day. The DNR was given the information and they are currently conducting a full investigation into the incident.

While I don’t have the complete details, I did talk to to the Wisco Bass tourney director and he told me that it’s out of their hands and now the DNR is in charge of the investigation . The angler is being banned by the Wisco BASS series for life due to his breaking the rules they have in place. I commend this series for catching this guy and also commend that angler for turning him in. Please don’t bash the tourney series online, these guys try to put on a series that anglers can trust and be assured all rules are being enforced. It’s never easy! We at the CWBA do the same thing. We have had complaints over the years and follow up on them. People have to understand we just can’t make accusations, ban someone or DQ someone without having evidence that proves otherwise. One guys word against another is not means of disqualification.

The CWBA will also ban this angler from our tournament series due to him breaking the same rules we have in place in our series. We do have a place in the entry form that asks if you ever been disqualified from a tournament. We have that there for a reason, if you state ‘no’ and knowingly try to deceive the CWBA, you will be banned for life. Now we understand being late for weigh in or another minor infraction isn’t means to be banned for life, but cheating is definitely cause to being banned. We as a tournament series take cheating as a serious violation and we want to keep the integrity of the sport we all love in place. If you ever see something in our series that would be cause for concern, we hope that you would reach out and we’d do our best to get it resolved.

Hopefully this guy can be properly charged and tried to the extent of the law. Remember, he is innocent until proven guilty so I will not bash him and post his name on Facebook.

Please do not post negative comments. I just wanted to inform everyone how we stand on this situation. Thank you for reading this announcement and thank you for fishing the CWBA.

Extra Take off, Fish, & weigh-in pics for Chippewa Flowage September 12th, 2026. Big Musky Resort

The CWBA’s 5th stop of the year took us to Big Musky Resort on the beautiful Chippewa Flowage! The weather threw the anglers a curve ball with our fist fall cold from of the year. Windy conditions from the Northwest changed the bite but these anglers still catch em. The tourney was predominantly won with Largemouth with only a few smallies brought to the scales. In the end, Chad Vaudrin and Jeff Simon were on top of the leaderboard and took the win. Congrats to Chad and Jeff!! Here are the full results

Attention: We are still taking off from Big Musky Resort in the morning. Please put in at any public landing and idle down the channel. Please allow enough time to get to the resort. Take off is at 7:00 AM on this tourney!!!!

I have a couple entries that were in the past 2-3 weeks and are having them pay at the landing. I have been having issues with US Mail at home either not getting delivered or it is taking longer. I did not want to take the chance of not receiving them before the tourney. That is what the red signifies on roster so I know at check-in who owes.
