Meet Lilo, a beautiful 3-year-old torbie girl with a gentle, sensitive soul. 🐾

Lilo is quite shy at first and needs time to feel safe and comfortable in a new environment. Once she begins to trust you, her sweet side starts to shine. She loves being admired and brushed, but she also appreciates affection on her own terms.

This girl is looking for a quiet and peaceful household where she can settle in at her own pace. She needs to be the only kitty in the home so she can feel secure and enjoy having her people all to herself.

Lilo loves to spend her day sunbathing in the sun on her scratcher and smelling the fresh air. She'll even entertain you with some fun laser game antics! And beware, if there's a heat pad nearby or an empty box, she's sure to claim both as her own and like the pawsome cat that she is -- won't ask permission. 😹

Her transition may take a little patience, but Lilo is worth it. She needs someone who understands that trust isn’t always immediate and is willing to give her the time, love, and compassion she needs to truly come out of her shell. 💜🏡🙏️

Quick reminder for anyone heading to South Medford Fred Meyer to shop:

There are RCCR donation bins at the store through the end of October. Grab a bag of cat food while you're shopping, or bring something from home and drop it in the bin on your way in. Unopened cat food and cat supplies are what we need, and every can counts, even if you can only spare one or two.

Some of you have asked where it all goes. The donations get split between our community pet food bank and the rescue cats in our care. The food bank is there for local folks who love their cats and are just having a rough month, whether that's a senior on a fixed income feeding the strays on her street or a family whose budget got squeezed and who refuses to give up their cat. Our rescue side has its own hungry crew. Kittens in foster homes go through food faster than you'd believe, and the cats recovering from medical care or waiting on adoption all need feeding every single day.

You won't find a faster way to help a local cat this month than tossing a bag in your cart while shopping and dropping it in the bin on your way out! Thanks for the support!

Put Saturday, October 17 on your calendar. Zen + Tonic Yoga in downtown Medford is hosting Cat Yoga from noon to 2pm, and the kittens are coming from us.

The class is 120 min and is open to every level, so beginners fit right in. Our adoptable kittens will be loose in the studio the whole time, which means you might end up holding a pose with a tiny passenger on your back. Nobody's grading your form. Come stretch and meet a few kittens who are looking for homes.

Tickets are $20. Of that, $14 goes to RCCR for spay/neuter surgeries and vaccines, and the rest helps Zen + Tonic cover hosting and advertising.

Spots are limited to keep the room comfortable. You can sign up ahead at zenandtonicyoga.com (go to Schedule, find October 17 and pick Cat Yoga) or pay at the door that day.

Remember this sweet face??😻
Miss Ton Ton came to us this past Spring and needed some pretty extensive treatments to ensure she was getting the best care possible.
Shes really flourished in our foster care system and is ready to embark on a new journey with a home that can love her as the amazing cuddle companion that she is. At almost 7yrs old, this girl still has so much to offer as she approaches her golden years.

Ton Ton is great with both cats and dogs after a slow introduction. Wonderful with kids, young ones too.

If you're looking for a low-profile kitty that just needs some minimal upkeep with her reoccurring ear infections -- This is the loving companion for you! Her gratitude shines with her endearing chatters and dancing biscuits.

🐾All RCCR cats and kittens are started on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and fixed. Please allow our team of volunteers' time to review and process applications.

Just because a cat is friendly and living outside doesn’t mean a rescue can take it in.

We get messages every day about sweet, friendly cats living outside. Cats that rub against your legs, follow you home, and just want someone to love them.

And the question is almost always the same.

“Can you please come rescue this cat?”

We wish we could always say yes.

But our fosters are full, our resources are limited, and we are already caring for cats and kittens who are sick, injured, orphaned, or have nowhere else to go.

But here’s what I really want our community to understand. Just because a rescue can’t take a cat doesn’t mean YOU can’t help it!

🐾 Check for an owner and have the cat scanned for a microchip.

🐾 Help get the cat spayed or neutered.

🐾 Provide food, water, and temporary shelter if you’re able.

🐾 Share photos, reach out to friends and neighbors, and help find a safe home.

🐾 Consider fostering! Every foster home creates another opportunity to save a life.

Sometimes YOU are the rescue. ❤️

We need to change the mindset that helping a cat means finding a rescue to take responsibility for it.

We cannot rescue our way out of the cat overpopulation crisis, but we CAN make a difference when we work together.

Community cats need a community solution, and that means ALL of us. 🐾

📦 Heads up, thrift shop donors! Our donation drop-off spot has moved.

Starting this Saturday please bring your donations directly to our sorting location at Bear Creek Mini Storage, 711 S Pacific Hwy in Talent. We take drop-offs every Saturday from 11am to 3pm, and a volunteer will be there to help you unload.

Bringing everything to one spot saves our volunteers a lot of hauling and gets your stuff sorted and onto the shop floor faster. 🐾

Come find our volunteers and see what kitties are awaiting their forever homes.

The cats are staying home with their foster families for this one. Our adoption counselors will be there with photos and bios of the cats we have available right now, and they know these guys well. They can tell you who’s a lap cat from day one and who needs a quiet week to come out from under the bed. Ask whatever you want. Who’s good with kids, who’s fine with a dog, who would be miserable as an only cat.

We can walk you through how adoption works with us too, so you’ll know exactly what happens next if someone catches your eye.
