Any Veterans out there willing to talk about their experience?

The tub may be quiet at night but the room is alive with kitten mayhem. Nothing lightens a weary soul like happy kittens. They are still looking for homes. If you’re interested, stop in at Happy Tails and meet them. They are as sweet as they are cute. If pet care when you’re out of town is holding you back, they come with free boarding. Please share if you can

Today we celebrate Spartan Share Day, a day we set aside to honor and remember, K9 Spartan.
Each year on Spartan Share Day, the money received from grooming, bathing, and tips is donated to Happy Tails Paw It Forward to support K9s and K9 units.
Because of your support, we've had the privilege of helping k9_axel_ with the purchase of a cruiser, assisting Wintersville Police Department and Wellsburg Police Department with the purchase of K9s, and helping various K9 units with medical care, much-needed gear, and training for their handlers.
Today, we'll look at Spartan's Memorial Garden a little differently. We'll stop a little longer, remember a little more, and wish Spartan a happy heavenly birthday.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Spartan Share Day throughout the years, and an especially heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out on September 1, 2020, to plant and dedicate Spartan's Memorial Garden, where Love Was Sown Here.....and 6 years later Memories Are Grown Here still
Happy Heavenly Birthday, Spartan.
Your legacy continues to protect us and do great deeds.

This an amazing project, kudos to Triadelphia VFD for putting this together. I hope they get a lot of response, there are soooo many deserving helpers to put on the calendar, it's a shame they only have 12 months to work with. Go nominate your helpers.

Triadelphia Volunteer Fire Department is running a Triadelphia VFD 2027 Community Calendar Fundraiser.
Our volunteer firefighters leave their homes and families to answer the call whenever the siren sounds. But there are heroes all over our town who help keep our community strong, safe, and connected every single day from the inside.
We are creating a special 2027 Photo Calendar Fundraiser, and we need your help to build it! Instead of a traditional calendar, this year we are dedicating months to the unsung, everyday community helpers right here in our neighborhood—nominated by you.
âť“ How It Works & What We Need:
• The Concept: We are choosing the most heartwarming stories from your submissions. Selected community helpers will be professionally photographed for their own dedicated month. Who is a Helper? Think of the neighbor who always checks in on you, your neighbor who helps you with anything, a beloved local teacher, or the small business owner who always gives back.
Where the Money Goes: 100% of the proceeds from holiday calendar sales go directly toward supporting the Triadelphia Volunteer Fire Department.
Nominations will be accepted through 9/12/26.
Winners will be notified by September 20, then we'll schedule the photo shoot, and calendars will be available for Christmas! 🙌🏼

And look for paper forms at community locations this week!

It's been a rough week of peopleing, but nothing is tougher, for us anyway, than when it comes to the lack of help offered to cats in this valley. By no means am I blaming or disappointed in the shelters, their staffs or animal control. These people see it day in and day out, over and over and over again and they do their best. What saddens me, what cuts me to the core, what makes my heart wrench and my soul ache are the policies made by those who are trying to make things look good on paper or have never stepped foot in a shelter, held a terrified cat that found itself dumped somewhere, or even adopted an animal from the very shelters they are making policies for. People who work at shelters, who are humane officers or animal control deal with the policies they are given, whether it's right or working, it is the policies they have to work with. The policies of not taking cats, whether they are unwanted, strays, abandoned or whatever, are not addressing the most crucial question of all....WHAT HAPPENS TO A CAT THE SHELTER REFUSES TO ADMIT?
Does the person that says I don't want this cat anymore, magically decide they want it and will care for it if shelters refuse to take it? What happens to that cat?
Does the person that finds a litter of kittens tucked under their porch by a stray mother suddenly find room in their home for the mother and kittens because the shelter refuses to take them in? What happens to that cat and her kittens?
If you come home to find a friendly cat waiting for you at your door, it's not yours, it's not your neighbors and you take it to the shelter because you can't take one more stray that has been dumped on you, what would you expect? Would you expect to here, just leave it where you found it? or take it somewhere that looks like it will be safe? What happens to that cat?
Today 3 perfectly sweet, adorable kittens were found huddled in the street. Should those kittens be left in the street? Should they be chased off the road and presumed safe and left to fend for themselves? Should they be taken to a nice neighborhood and dropped off? What if someone, someone that cares, someone that knows she can not keep them, she has cats of her own, she has a funeral in Mississippi tomorrow, but she stops traffic anyway and picks up those kittens. Imagine that was you, you are trying your best to help, you go to the shelter and they won't take them, not till Sept 8th. What would you do? Really, what would you do? and while you're trying to answer that, answer the question of WHAT HAPPENS TO ANIMALS THAT ARE REFUSED BY SHELTERS?
Unfortunately for the cats and dogs refused by shelters the answers don't offer much hope for them. Nor does it do anything to encourage people to help strays.
Fortunately for these 3 they were rescued by a kind soul and we are going to house them till Sept. 8th. They have been de-fleaed and 1st round of deworming. They appear to be healthy, about 12 weeks, and are all friendly and using the litter pan. The first tabby in the video is a female and the shyest of the group. The orange and white is a male and he seems to be very laid back. The last tabby in the video is a female and she is the most out going, full of purrs and wants cuddled. If by chance you are interested in adding one of the kittens to your home, give us a call 304-233-2740.

HURRRRAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!
Phones, internet and answering machine are all working and all it took was one, that's right, one person to listen to what we were saying and figuring it out themselves instead of sending us to someone else.
Added bonus, Moundsville Pharmacy brought us a wonderful surprise, thanks for making our day
