🇺🇸🎶Maumee Intermediate Students are invited to
Sing the “Star Spangled Banner” with MHS Marching Band on
Friday, September 18th,2026 🎶🇺🇸

Music classes are off to a great start! Students will be learning some patriotic tunes to start off the year and you can hear it
for yourself as students are invited to perform our National Anthem with the MHS Marching Band before the varsity football game!
Below are details of the event.

Schedule for Friday, September 18th, 2025
6:00pm - MIS students arrive at the backside of the MHS Performing Arts Center
(Parents may proceed to stadium)
6:15pm - Practice singing the Star Spangled Banner and watch a performance from the band
6:30pm - March to the stadium with band
6:45pm - Pre-game starts
6:55pm - Star Spangled Banner performance with band
*After the performance, students will meet family members near the Panther Den (gift shop) or outside of the main gate for pickup.

🐾Students are encouraged to wear purple and gold/yellow Maumee “spirit wear,” but if your student does not have any of
those colors, they are free to wear any appropriate clothes. 💛💜

📣📣In order for us to anticipate attendance at this optional performance, please RSVP by returning the slip below to either
Mrs. Kaczala or Ms. Scatterday. Please submit your RSVP by Tuesday, September 15th.

✨✨Our First MIS Staff Spotlight✨✨

🐾Today we're shining the spotlight on our amazing School Secretary Mrs. Meek. She is the friendly face you see in the office making sure our school runs smoothly every day! From welcoming students and families to helping staff, answering questions, keeping things organized, and handling all the little details behind the scenes. She does it all!! 📚

We are so thankful for the kindness, patience, and positive energy she brings to our school each day! 🐾💛💜

⚠️ CHECK THOSE BACKPACKS! ⚠️

Student fundraising packets are being SENT HOME TODAY (8/24) for our fall camp fundraiser, the MUM BUDDIES SALE! 🌸🌸🌸 This is your student’s opportunity to raise funds for their fifth grade camp fees. The sale starts TODAY 8/24 with orders and money due TUESDAY 9/8! And mark your calendar for mum pick up - Thursday 9/17, 3-6pm!

👉 In the envelope will be a Harvest Mum Buddies ORDER FORM and an informational LETTER FOR PARENTS. Please be sure to READ THE LETTER; it has all the information you need, including the profit your student will earn from their sales and, at the very bottom, their current camp account balance and the total amount they will still need to raise/pay for their fifth grade camp. 🌲🌲🌲

👉 In addition to the order form, orders can be placed online by setting up your student’s account (directions on the letter) and using their personalized QR code that’s on the front of their fundraising packet envelope.

👉 And of course there are PRIZES!! 💥💥💥 Every student who sells 15+ items will participate in a SILLY STRING BATTLE 🤪 at school! And the homeroom with the highest sales in each grade wins a PIZZA PARTY! 🍕🍕🍕

👉 Lastly, we will need LOTS of VOLUNTEERS on pick up day, Thursday, September 17th! Volunteers are needed for the following times:

⏰: 1:00-3:00pm to unload all the mums when they’re delivered
⏰: 3:00-6:00pm to help with order pick up

Start with Hello spirit week!

Each year, thousands of schools and youth organizations nationwide participate in "Start With Hello" Week. This is a national annual event dedicated to making new social connections and creating a sense of belonging among youth.

The Start With Hello program was created by the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation to teach students in grades K-12 how to build connections, end loneliness, and help one another. We know that small but powerful actions can promote inclusion and kindness.
