The Passaggio della Bandiera is the traditional ceremony that officially begins the new year's journey toward the Festa dei Gigli di Nola, when the Maestro (i) for Fabbro 2026, transfers the Fabbro Flag (Bandiera) to this year’s Maestri (plural for more than one), who are the family of Salvatore Mineri, the singer who performed on the Massapequa Giglio during the 2026 Massapequa Festa del Giglio.

The Massapequa Giglio honor the generations who came before us, bringing with them the courage, sacrifices, traditions, and unwavering love that built the foundation of our Italian-American communities.

May we forever cherish our roots, celebrate the beautiful culture that unites us, and pass on the pride, faith, and family values of Italian heritage to the generations yet to come. ❤️🤍💚
