Members of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians (LAOH) Nassau County were featured in the Friends of Sinn Féin newsletter following their participation in the annual Easter Monday commemoration held on April 6 at the Irish Monument in Mineola, New York.

The ceremony takes place each year at the monument outside the Nassau County Courthouse, honoring the 1916 Easter Rising and those who fought for Irish independence.

Easter Monday holds deep significance in Irish history, marking a pivotal moment in the struggle for independence and serving as a day of remembrance for Irish communities around the world.

Proud to see our local Irish-American community not only present at this important Nassau County tradition, but recognized on a broader stage, continuing a legacy of heritage, remembrance, and connection.

The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Nassau County proudly celebrates two outstanding members, Eileen Flanagan Petrucci and Marianne Fleischer, on being named Aides to the 2026 Glen Cove St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Eileen, a past president of Glen Cove Division 8, St. Dymphna, and Marianne, a respected Irish historian and dedicated Hibernian leader, exemplify the spirit of Irish heritage, faith, and service that the LAOH stands for.

Their commitment to the organization and the community makes this honor especially meaningful.

Congratulations to both on this well-deserved recognition—we are so proud to see you represent the LAOH in Glen Cove’s 38th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
