I’m thankful to have the endorsement of the LIUNA Downstate Illinois Laborers Council. Laborers are an important part of building and maintaining the roads, bridges, schools and infrastructure our communities rely on every day. Strong unions help workers earn good wages, provide for their families and build a better future. I’ll keep fighting for working families, good-paying jobs and the rights of organized labor in Springfield.

Today at LIUNA's 27th International Convention, GST Michael F. Sabitoni shared his vision for LIUNA's future - where every generation adds a link to the chain of those who came before them, protecting what we've fought for as we stake out new ground.

He reminded us that real leadership means being accessible for honest conversations, putting in the work when no one is watching, and treating everybody with dignity and respect along the way.
