Mascoutah Alumni & Friends Scholarship

Organization set up for alumni and friends of the community to provide scholarship resourses. Your direct contributions are 100% tax deductible.

MCHS Alumni and Friends is a 501 (c) 3 tax exempt organization approved by the Internal Revenue Service. An annual golf event, held the Friday morning of the Mascoutah City Homecoming, providing a fun environment for alumni and friends to reconnect and an added opportunity for alumni to reinvest int the community by contributing financial assistance to graduating students of Mascoutah Community High School. Support can be in the form on golf sponsorships, participation and direct donations.

After graduating from Mascoutah in 2023, I attended Webster University in St. Louis. This past May, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a minor in Data Analytics. During my time at Webster, I was a member of the volleyball team, made the Dean’s List every semester, was selected to the SLIAC All-Academic Team each year, served as President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and was a member of the community service club. I also studied abroad in London during the Spring of 2025! I’ll be attending Boston College in the Fall, pursuing a Master of Science in Sports Analytics, and will graduate in December of 2027. I’m beyond thankful for the opportunities I was able to explore as a result of the generosity of the Alumni and Friends Scholarship!

Hi! I’m Sarah Nowak Ford, and here’s what I’ve been up to since graduating from MCHS in 2020.

I graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2024 with a BS in physics. Upon completing my degree, I commissioned into the US Navy as a Student Naval Aviator. I moved to Pensacola to start flight school (and met my now-husband, Connor) in August of '24. A few months later, we moved to Corpus Christi, TX, to continue our training.

Connor and I got married in September of '25. We were both selected to fly the E-2D Hawkeye (the best plane ever) as our fleet aircraft. My final test of flight school (~1.5 years from now) will be landing the T-45 Goshawk jet on an aircraft carrier.

The last two years have been particularly impactful for me since I found great church communities in Pensacola and Corpus Christi. Recentering on Christ has given me peace which surpasses all understanding, even when times are tough. Thank you, Alumni and Friends, for supporting me along the way!

After graduating from Mascoutah High School in 2019, I attended Kansas State University for 4 years. Throughout my time at Kansas State, I held offices in the College of Business support groups, my Fraternity Beta Theta Pi, and competed on our nationally acclaimed sales team. In 2023, I obtained a degree in Professional Strategic Selling and moved back to the St. Louis area! For the past three years I have been working as a Program Manager for Schneider Electric, where I help School Districts, Municipalities, and other public entities with infrastructure improvement projects. I reside in the Tower Grove area with my Fiancée, Erin, and we are excitedly planning our wedding for 2027! I am incredibly grateful for the Mascoutah Alumni & Friends community and look forward to playing in the tournament every year as well as supporting for years to come!

I started by going to SIU Carbondale for 3 semesters, and now I am currently at SIU Edwardsville. My first semester at SIU, I was studying aviation and planning on becoming a pilot. As the semester was coming to an end, I realized I did not want aviation to be my career. I then switched to Finance and loved every class I took from then on out. I am planning to graduate with a Finance degree from SIUE in the summer of 2027 with a lot of opportunity to go into many different financial careers, such as personal advisement, insurance, mortgages, etc. I was very grateful for the opportunity to study aviation at SIU because it led me to the major I was most interested in.

As for jobs and internships, I currently work as a personal trainer, a content creator for a social media marketing agency, and at Sam’s Club. I am also in the waiting period for internships at firms such as Renaissance Financial and Monetta.

Hi! Since graduating from Mascoutah in 2022, I attended Southeast Missouri State University. I earned my degree in nursing. Throughout my time at SEMO, I was involved in Alpha Xi Delta sorority, Panhellenic council, Residence Life, and Student Nurse Association. I loved to be involved, and I took every opportunity I could to meet new people! Since graduating from SEMO in December, I have been working at Barnes Jewish Hospital in STL as a cardiac nurse. I truly love my job, and I want to start the journey to becoming a Nurse Practitioner within the next 2 years!

I am in my second semester at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology studying chemical engineering, where I’m set to graduate with my bachelor’s a year early in 2028! I also earned a 4.0 in my first semester. I play D2 volleyball here and coach a local 15u team in the area. I’ll be a project management intern this summer at MilliporeSigma, having a cross-functional team leadership role as well as having parts in project scope development, quality risk management, resource allocation, and validation engineering! I’m incredibly excited because it has a lot to do with what I hope to do after graduation and with a very well-known company in the chemical industry.

Today, we started the interview process for our 2026 scholarship applicants!

We are so excited to meet and learn about each young man and woman who has applied for our scholarship this year. Our interview process gives our scholarship a unique touch that really allows us to have a personal relationship with each of our recipients.

Come see us hand out the big checks at the MCHS Honors Night on May 12th!

The deadline to apply is next Tuesday, March 31st.

Seniors who are interested in applying can find the application on our website or in the MCHS Guidance Office.
