Thank you, Bethel Church. The children of Bethel Church did a change drive throughout the summer and raised $1,005.54 -- which they decided to donate to the Without Limits Playground-Mascoutah! World CP Day snuck up on us and we can’t let it get too far past us without giving Chandler a shout out! Chandler was born at 29 weeks but thankfully she was blessed with more grit than most. Enduring ~80 days in the hospital in her first year and a half of life!

At 2 years old Chandler was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Then, at just 3 years old, Chandler underwent a Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy - a surgery that severs the sensory nerves going down to her lower extremities. This has allowed the muscles in her legs to relax, paving the way for independent walking in the future! At 4 years old she was placed in hard casts on both legs for 3 weeks to allow her muscles to stretch into the correct positions.

Chandler has shown us what true toughness looks like, and she has never once wavered from giving 110% in physical therapy and in life. Chandler inspires those around her and reminds us daily that we can do hard things 💪🏼

At just 24 weeks gestation, Brody’s parents received the life-changing news of his critical heart condition.

The moment he entered the world, he was rushed to a separate hospital’s NICU, undergoing his first heart surgery at just 10 days old. For weeks, his mother couldn't hold or feed her newborn baby.
His parents refused to let him spend a single moment alone. His dad worked by his bedside during the day, and after finishing her 6 PM to 2 AM shift in the ER, his mom would trade places to sleep beside him so his dad could rest. They even spent their very first Christmas together in the hospital with Brody intubated and sedated.

Brody kept fighting. When he finally came home on oxygen, monitors, and a feeding tube, his parents woke up every two hours through withdrawal, tracking calorie intake, and responding to endless alarms. However, they simply grateful to have their baby boy home.
