Mascoutah Community Unit School District 19 is featured as one of “The 10 Most Admired School Districts” in October’s issue of The Education Magazine. Their article about MSD19 says, “….In places where tradition meets growth, the story of a district is rarely a straight line. Instead, it becomes a reflection of both heritage and progress, carried forward by the people who call that community home. “Mascoutah is one such place. Tucked in the heart of Illinois, it carries the character of a small rural town while sitting close to expanding suburban neighborhoods. Adding to this mix is the presence of Scott Air Force Base, which brings with it families from across the country and even the world. This blend of hometown roots, suburban energy, and global influence has shaped the Mascoutah community…. Over time, that character has given the local school district both challenges and opportunities unlike any other.”

With the continuing threat of bad weather on Saturday and out of an abundance of caution we have made the call to cancel the Fall Festival/Chili Cook-Off/Car Show for this year. We felt that we couldn't wait any longer to see if the weather forecast would improve. There are many moving parts to put on an event such as this. It will not be rescheduled this year. Since the event is held on Main Street we have to have permission from the Illinois Department of Transportation. That permission must be requested by our City Council. The process can take several weeks. It isn't practical to attempt to move the event elsewhere on short notice. Also we have to take into account the safety of our vendors and our volunteers. Our vendors will be offered a full refund or the option to leave their fee with the Chamber so that they are registered for next year. Our Chili Cook Off participants will receive their stipend of $150 for entering. We are sorry to disappoint everyone planning to attend and we hope to see everyone on October 17, 2026.

📣📣For area fun this weekend, please check out the local businesses and events still going on in our community. The Vault is hosting a mini Fall Fest on Saturday. They are accepting cooks and vendors.

The Tumbling Tribe will be open Saturday afternoon, across the street from The Vault, for any vendors looking for an indoor space! Contact 618-310-5930 if interested.

The Mascoutah Farmers Market is still a go on Sunday as well. Contact Casey Kelly for more info. She is still accepting outdoor vendors.

🚨Thursday Update:

The Mascoutah Fall Fest Coordinators and Board have made the difficult decision to cancel the Mascoutah Fall Fest scheduled for October 18, 2025. With safety being our top priority, the predicted weather conditions make it unsafe to proceed with the event.

Unfortunately, due to the extensive logistics involved, we are unable to reschedule or relocate the festival at this time.

Chili cooks: Kevin Dawson will be touching base with you. We are offering the $150 in Mascoutah Bucks to those already signed up. They will be distributed at the Nov Chamber meeting. If alternate options are needed, please call us.

Craft vendors:
Moving forward, we are offering two options for your vendor registration:

Option 1:
Carry Over to 2026.
We can keep you on the books for next year’s Fall Fest on October 17, 2026, and hold your payment.

If you choose this option, your application and all previously agreed-upon rules will remain valid, with the only change being the date.

We must receive your permission via email to carry over your registration by October 31, 2025. Our email is [email protected]

Option 2
Refund:
If you prefer a refund, we will remove your application from the roster and mail your refund to the address on file.

👉 Important: If we do not receive a written response from you by October 31, 2025, your application will be automatically pulled, and we will issue a refund by mail.

We truly appreciate your support and enthusiasm for our event, and we’re saddened to make this decision. Rest assured, we’re already working to make next year’s Fall Fest our best yet.

Thank you for your understanding and continued partnership.
