We’re happy to report that we have successfully completed the 2026 West Virginia State Thespian Festival.

Our own Mia Hersh won the Battle of the Bard Competition and will be representing us and the state of West Virginia as the state champion at the ESU National Shakespeare Competition. We are so very proud of her.

Mia Hersh and Xander Overholser won All Festival Cast. Xander also won Outstanding Sound Design with a Superior Rating, which means he is eligible to progress to the International Thespian Festival for the 2nd year in a row.

Noelle Hronesz was recognized for her work as a State Thespian Officer, and Trevor Kopanyi and Mia Hersh were recognized as rising STOs for next year.

Trevor Kopanyi also won an award for his perfect attendance at all events at the festival.

We were recognized with the Special Element Award of "Best Background." We missed the top 5 performances recognition, but it was a tight competition this year.

Our kids rose to every challenge and represented us well.

Sorry of the late announcement; post-competition was a long process. However, we are pleased to announce that Thespian Troupe 8066 will be representing Spring Mills High School at the West Virginia State Thespian Festival! We are also proud to announce the following winners at the competition:

We would also like to congratulate all of the regional winners and cannot wait to see everyone at the state festival. And a huge thank you to Mrs. Mitchell (Martinsburg High) for an amazing festival and Mr. Grubb and Musselman High for a being such wonderful hosts.

Posting a quick note that Noelle Hronesz has been chosen again by Playbill (the Broadway program company) for her cover design to be recognized on their website, showcasing educational and regional theatre’s designs utilizing their Playbillder design software. This is the second time she has been recognized by the company, which services professional, regional, and educational theatre throughout the country. We’re super proud of her continued recognition.
