Founded in 1991, the Marshfield Area Ski Touring Foundation (MASTF) was created to help promote outdoor recreation during the wintertime. Through an agreement with the School District of Marshfield, the nonprofit organization developed and manages a 12 KM trail system at Marshfield School Forest during the winter months. Today, visitors to the forest can enjoy some of the area’s best ski, snowshoe, and fatbike trails thanks to MASTF’s dedicated group of volunteers.

Lots of "debris" on the trails, Help us out by kicking them off the trail or stopping and throwing them off the trail if you can. Expect a few trees down, especially up on the ridge. We are working on clearing them as soon as we can. Enjoy! (via trailbot.com)

Marshfield School Forest - CLOSED (GROOMED, FREEZE/THAW): All fat bike trails have been groomed today. With tomorrow’s warm up, please stay off of them now through Friday night. We will reopen again Saturday morning once it gets down below freezing again. Should setup for a great weekend of fat biking. XC ski trails have not been groomed but there is still plenty of snow on them to get a good ski in. No tracks are set. This may be the last good weekend so make use of it. (via trailbot.com)

Marshfield School Forest - OPEN (GROOMED, LOOSE): Winter has decided to make a surprise return. All fat bike trails have been groomed today, should setup nicely by Saturday morning. Recommend airing down again, conditions are soft, 3-4 psi. Icy conditions do exist in spots under the snow, so be cautious. Studs not required but may help in spots. XC ski trails have also been groomed today, tracks were not set. Thr drriveway going in to the lodge has not been plowed. Guessing there is 6-8 inches of snow in the driveway. The outer parking lot by the highway has been plowed. Enjoy this winter 2.0, looks good for the next week or so. Lodge will not be open this weekend. (via trailbot.com)

XC ski trails will be groomed early Saturday morning. Then again Sunday morning. We are looking for volunteers to work the lodge Saturday either 11-1 or 1-4. And Sunday 11-1. Right now we do have an attendant for Sunday p.m. This may be it for the year, hopefully not, but we'll see. Ride early, try to stay off of fatbike trails after 11 a.m. to help preserve the base. Good luck to those skiing the Burkie!
