Theodore Roosevelt believed conservation worked best when people remained closely connected to the land through hunting, fishing, and outdoor traditions.

More than a century later, that idea still matters.

In Oregon, activists are pushing measures that could drastically impact hunting, fishing, trapping, and long-standing wildlife management practices.

It’s a reminder that these traditions — and the conservation model built around them — should never be taken for granted.

In Colorado and across the country, protecting hunting and fishing also means protecting the future of conservation, public access, wildlife funding, and our connection to the outdoors.

The responsibility to carry that legacy forward now belongs to us.

Big win for our outdoor heritage.

We stand with Cody Johnson — and with every hunter carrying on the conservation legacy Theodore Roosevelt helped build. Legal, regulated grizzly hunting supports wildlife management, funds conservation, and helps keep Alaska wild for future generations.

As we head into another summer season, let it be a reminder not to take our freedoms for granted. Get outside. Take someone hunting or fishing. Teach the next generation why conservation and freedom matter.

That’s part of the legacy Theodore Roosevelt believed in — and one worth carrying forward.

Today, we remember the men and women who gave everything for this country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It’s a reminder that the freedoms we enjoy — the ability to gather with family, spend time outdoors, hunt, fish, speak freely, and live freely — came at a cost.

We honor those who never made it home, and we carry forward a responsibility to protect the country they gave their lives for. 🇺🇸

We remember. Always.

There’s something about a long weekend outdoors that resets you a little.

Theodore Roosevelt believed time spent outside built stronger people, stronger communities, and a stronger America — and he was right.

So this weekend, step away from the noise for a bit. Go fishing. Sit around a fire. Take the backroads. Get in the woods. Watch a sunset. Enjoy cabin time.

Just get outside. 🇺🇸
