One of Italy’s most important national holidays, Festa della Repubblica commemorates the 1946 referendum that transformed Italy from a monarchy into a republic. The largest celebrations take place in Rome, where military parades march along Via dei Fori Imperiali and the Frecce Tricolori paint the sky with green, white, and red smoke. Public ceremonies, concerts, and patriotic events are held throughout the country. It is both a civic celebration and a moment of national reflection.

Greetings Brothers and Sisters,

Thank you to all of our lodge members, family, friends and guests who joined us for our June Scholarshop & Barbeque General Meeting held on Monday evening at the Gibson House.

We served sausage and peppers, hamburgers, pasta and potatoe salads, beverages and desserts.

Our secretary, Loretta, read our May minutes and were approved.

Our treasurer, Peg, gave our treasury report and was approved.

Our First Vice President, Lorraine, shared information from the Grand Lodge regarding the Columbus Day Celebration, the upcoming 2027 Convention, Italian lessons and another trip to Italy.

Our board member, Loretta, spoke of the cultural events in Italy in June, we acknowledged our June, July and August birthdays and promoted our spirit wear.

We recognized and presented scholarships to the following recipients:
Madeline Dubler, granddaughter of Bob Graziosi
Harrison Fischer, grandson of Joanne Smith-Woll and
Mia Rorke, granddaughter of Joe Musimeci.
Each recipient spoke about their connection to their Italian heritage and the importance it has played in their lives.

Our board member, Karen, asked about members participated in the Evesham 4th of July Parade and discussed the Christmas party.

we proudly honor our namesake,
Corporal Carmel S. Morina, a casualty of the Korean War, along with all the brave men and women who laid down their lives in service to our country.
Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication continue to inspire us and remind us that freedom is never free.
May we never forget the heroes who gave everything for the generations that followed.
