Laborers Local 773 members are proud to partner with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Union Sportsmen's Alliance on a project that will make the outdoors more accessible for everyone. Yesterday our members volunteered their skills and hard work to help install a new handicap-accessible kayak launch at Rend Lake, creating opportunities for individuals of all abilities to enjoy the beauty of Southern Illinois and the recreation our public lands provide.

Through our partnership with the Union Sportsmen's Alliance's Work Boots on the Ground program and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, we're helping ensure that outdoor recreation remains accessible, inclusive, and available for future generations.

A special thank you to Laborers David Homan, Jessica McElrath, Anthony Hibbler, Joshua Geary, Hunter Clover, Thomas Semon, William Orrill, Michael Thomason, Steve Vincent Jim Hobbie, Justin Watters, Christan Watters, Norman Risley, John Howerton, Monte Childers, Tory Woods who donated their time and talents to make this project a reality. A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the Annual Edward M. Smith Golf Tournament last Friday in support of the Connell F. Smith – Homer Brown Scholarship Fund. We had a fantastic turnout, for a great cause, while bringing everyone together. Because of the continued support from our golfers and sponsors, we are able to help deserving students continue their education and invest in their futures. Also, congratulations to this year's scholarship recipients! We were proud to recognize these outstanding students and present them with their scholarship certificates during the event. We are already looking forward to next year's tournament!
