Created in 2012 through a partnership between Makanda Moon Fiber Art & Design and the Arthritis Foundation of Southern Illinois, the inaugural A.R.T.S. Quilt Project is a pattern set entitled, “MY LILY BED.” Everyone who purchases the pattern set also becomes eligible to submit photos of finished work to the A.R.T.S. LILY GARDEN online gallery (which wraps up the LILY project during Summer-Fall 2
013 and remains online through December 2014)
ABOUT THE PATTERN:
MY LILY BED offers a bundled package of eight original daylily appliqué patterns. The patterns were designed to be suitable for any level of skill, from beginner to advanced. Patterns may be used with any desired color and fabric selection to create multi-block items such as wall hangings, bed quilts, and table runners, or used individually for single-block items such as pillows, miniature art quilts, and large scale apparel (aprons, jackets, purses, and more). Instructions are provided for a simple fused appliqué process, either raw-edge or stitched, but other appliqué techniques may be used as desired. The Eight-Block MY LILY BED Pattern is available for $10.00, and all proceeds go to the Arthritis Foundation. This is a LIMITED EDITION package, available only until DECEMBER 31, 2013 (or while supplies last). Patterns may be purchased directly from the Arthritis Foundation of Southern Illinois or by visiting one of the local A.R.T.S. Quilt Project Partners listed under the LIKES section of this page. LILY GARDEN ONLINE:
Everyone who purchases the MY LILY BED pattern set will become eligible to submit photos of completed work created from one or more of the daylily patterns. Photos will be compiled in an online gallery, the A.R.T.S. LILY GARDEN, in tribute to all people around the world who have suffered from arthritis-related illness. There is no immediate deadline for submitting photos; participants may submit them as they work and play with the pattern set between 2012 and 2014. Photos may be submitted by individuals or by groups such as quilt guilds, sewing or quilting class groups, garden club members, youth clubs, and others. RIGHTS OF USE:
Work created from any pattern in the set is PERMITTED ONLY for personal use or for donation in entirety to a charitable organization. No commercial application, personal or commercial revenue, or commercial adaptation will be permitted. The copyright requires that each pattern user purchase the pattern set. In group or class settings, each participating individual must purchase the pattern set. For more information on copyright and permissions, email [email protected]. To acquire multiple pattern sets for group use, simply email [email protected] or call 618-993-1777. Payment will be made directly to the Arthritis Foundation.
