Every voter deserves to have their voice heard, without intimidation or interference. Black and Latino voters are being targeted by efforts to challenge ballots, threaten election officials, and create barriers to the ballot box.

We won’t stand by and let that go unchecked. We’ll continue fighting to protect every voter’s right to participate in our democracy.

Día de Mu***os, or Day of the Dead, is a celebration of loved ones who have passed on. Its roots go back thousands of years to Indigenous peoples of Mesoamérica, including the Mexica. It mainly takes place on November 1, which often honors children who have passed, and November 2, which honors adults.

So before you paint your face like a sugar skull, ask yourself a few questions: Do I know what this represents? Was I invited, or do I just like the look? Am I honoring someone who has passed, or making someone’s culture a costume? Am I financially supporting the communities this tradition comes from or letting someone else capitalize on traditions?
