The IEEE Cedar Rapids Section was honored to attend IEEE Sections Congress 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Representing the section were Shubhresh Jha (Vice Chair), Meredith Godar (Secretary), and Vickie Ozburn (WIE Chair).

A special congratulations to Vickie, who presented in her role as IEEE VP, TEMS Marketing, on "Inside the Election: Key Steps, Roles, and Best Practices." Her session provided valuable insights into the IEEE election process and highlighted the importance of effective volunteer leadership and governance across the organization.

It was an incredible opportunity to connect with IEEE volunteers and leaders from around the world, especially those from our neighboring regions, exchange ideas, and learn new ways to strengthen our local section and better serve our members.

We look forward to bringing these ideas and best practices back to the Cedar Rapids Section as we continue to grow and engage our local IEEE community.

Congratulations to University of Iowa IEEE Student Members! 🎉

The IEEE Nexus Region 4 conference earlier this month in Chicago convened more than 100 attendees from nine states, two countries, and numerous universities. Iowa Illinois IEEE Section - R4

Tayla Lovan, Lydia Pauley and Eva Singh from the University of Iowa IEEE Student Branch, earned first place in the IEEE Ethics Competition. The team was awarded a first-place trophy and $750 in prize money.

The IEEE Cedar Rapids Section is extremely proud of their outstanding achievement! 👏
