GoPacks

GoPacks GoPacks takes a two step approach to fight food insecurity:

1. Provide access to consistent, nutritious food.

2. Poverty goes beyond financial resources.

To fight food insecurity, we provide students with nutritious foods during school weekends and breaks, while working to increase families’ resources and support networks. Help build up a family’s resources and support networks
so that it doesn’t face food insecurity in the future. For a family to break out of poverty, it must build up many resources; including those in education, job and life

skills, health, and support networks. That is why GoPacks partners with local community groups to offer multiple ways for families to increase their resources. Food insecurity and poverty are complex problems. Consequently, their solutions are also complex, and take time to effect change. GoPacks Quick Facts -

We enjoyed meeting students and families at Marietta High School's Orientation Nights this week. We had a table set up sharing info on our clubs and new beverage program we have at the school. The polenta pizza bites were yummy and people had fun making their own hanging planter with baby spider plants. We hope everyone has a great first day of school on Thursday.

Shout out to The Marietta Times for their article that brings attention to the hard challenges many families in the MOV face today. Food insecurity is definitely not always visible, but it is always difficult. And a humble thank you to the Times for their support and acknowledgement.

A bag of groceries is one of the most ordinary things a family can buy. But, for many households, filling that bag has become a checkbook-balancing act. Meat or fresh produce? Food or medicine?
