We’re excited to welcome Cara Ingram as one of our newest board members! ✨

Cara’s story is rooted in resilience, family, hard work, and a deep love for community. From growing up on her family farm in Ohio to supporting local students, families, and organizations here in Washington County, she brings both heart and leadership to everything she does.

Her passion for creating a community where future generations can grow, stay, and thrive aligns beautifully with the mission of our Foundation — and we are so honored to have her joining our board.

✨ Did you know our Women’s Giving Circle has been making a difference since 2016?

Now celebrating a decade of impact, this powerful group of women has invested more than $100,000 back into our community—and we’re just getting started.

Twice a year, members gather to hear from local nonprofits, connect with one another, and directly decide where funding goes. What makes it special is simple: women coming together to turn shared giving into real, local impact.

With an annual commitment of $500, members are not only supporting meaningful work today, but also helping grow their endowment for tomorrow’s needs.

As we celebrate 10 years of impact, we’re also growing our membership—and we’d love to invite you to learn more and be part of what’s next. 💙https://www.mcfohio.org/womens-giving-circle

New Scholarship Spotlight ✨

We were honored to establish the James R. Thrash Family Scholarship, created to celebrate the lasting impact of Jim Thrash—a dedicated educator, guidance counselor, and coach at Marietta High School from 1988 to 2017. His legacy is rooted in the pride he instilled in his students, his commitment to their success, and the strong sense of community he championed every day.

This scholarship recognizes a Marietta High School senior who reflects those same values—demonstrating school pride, dedication, and a community-minded spirit, especially through involvement in athletics and extracurricular activities.

Joel Thrash had the privilege of presenting this award at Marietta High School, honoring a student who carries forward Jim’s legacy and commitment to making a difference. 💙 Join us in congratulating, William Tornes!! https://www.mcfohio.org/news/mcf-awards-over-550000-in-scholarships-investing-in-the-next-generation-of-washington-county-leaders

Did you know… your generosity may now pay off at tax time? ✨

A new federal tax law may allow taxpayers who take the standard deduction to still deduct charitable donations on their taxes. That means giving back to the causes you care about could now come with a financial benefit, too.

Beginning in 2026, eligible taxpayers may be able to deduct:
• Up to $1,000 for individuals
• Up to $2,000 for married couples filing jointly

And lucky for you — Marietta Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, meaning donations made to us are tax deductible! 💙

💫 Ready to make a difference AND take advantage of the tax benefit? Donate today: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=8ACMUZSYFXJBJ

( P.S. Be sure to consult your tax advisor for details on how this deduction may apply to you. )

There couldn’t have been a more fitting time to share this incredible story than right after Sunday’s scholarship ceremony. 💙

Meet Seneca Craven, a 2020 Carol Christy Scholarship recipient whose journey is a powerful reminder of how one opportunity can create a lasting ripple effect. In her story, Seneca reflects on her college experience and how receiving this scholarship sparked what she calls a “domino effect” in her life — opening doors, building confidence, and helping shape the path she’s on today.

She is truly on a path to make a meaningful impact in the world, and we are so honored to share her story with our community.
