GoPacks fights food insecurity by providing students with nutritious foods during school weekends and breaks, while working to increase families’ resources and support networks.

Yesterday, we delivered a donation to Washington County Harvest of Hope. They will use the donation to purchase a commercial freezer, as they are seeing an increased need for assistance.

In Washington County alone, 16% of the population and 21% of children live in poverty. Washington County Harvest of Hope gleans, grows, and gives food to programs that feed hungry people in our communities.

We are making a donation to the Southeast Ohio Foodbank to support Washington County families during this time of need, particularly in light of recent cuts to normal government subsidies. Hunger Solutions MOV is committed to pledging up to $100,000, which will be disbursed in increments of $25,000, based on the requirements of local food pantries and the purchasing power of the Southeast Ohio Foodbank.

The first disbursement occurred last week and Hunger Solutions MOV will collaborate closely with the Southeast Ohio Foodbank to ensure that the funds are available as local pantries continue to supply food to Washington County.

Hunger Solutions Mid-Ohio Valley is providing up to $100,000 to support the Southeast Ohio Food Bank after Food and Nutrition Services announced on Wednesday it had run out of funds. Today Hunger Solutions MOV made a three year commitment, for a total donation of $110,000, to GoPacks.

We believe in their mission for tackling food insecurity. By intentionally spreading the GoPacks model of two way giving, GoPacks strives to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty through encouraging the development of supportive relationships within the community.

Earlier this month, Hunger Solutions Mid-Ohio Valley made a $25,000 donation to Southeast Ohio Food Bank to support 7 food pantries in Washington County.

The food pantries receiving support are 3C Food Pantry, Beverly Waterford Food Pantry, Belpre Church of Christ, Marietta Community Food Pantry, New Matamoras Food Pantry, Newport Community Food Pantry and Tri County Food Pantry.

Earlier this month, Hunger Solutions Mid-Ohio Valley made a few donations to Southeast Ohio Food Bank to support local food pantries.

A $5,000 donation was made to support Athens County Food Pantry, located in Athens, Ohio.

Additionally, Hunger Solutions MOV made a $4,000 donation to support Torch Feed My Sheep Food Pantry, located in Coolville, Ohio.

Today, Hunger Solutions Mid-Ohio Valley made a $12,500 donation to Belpre Area Ministries.

Belpre Area Ministries (BAM) is a volunteer-run organization, providing assistance to residents in need for over 20 years. BAM assists primarily those living in Belpre or Little Hocking but does not turn away those in need from neighboring areas.

Last week, Hunger Solutions Mid-Ohio Valley had the opportunity to make a $2,500 donation to Washington County Harvest of Hope.

16% of the population in Washington County lives in poverty and Washington County Harvest of Hope gleans, grows, and gives food to programs that feed hungry people in our communities.
