Goals
SHORT TERM:

Continue to grow the Boxes of HOPE food box delivery program to those that are unable to provide enough food to their family without assistance. This would include the purchase of a vehicle to better be able to handle the amount of food being delivered, along with capabilities to travel on gravel roads due to rural areas. Develop a contractual agreement with a food distribution company such as St. Expand our street outreach program. Pack more backpacks and directly outreach those that need the extra support. LONG TERM: Develop a ‘subdivision’ within Maricopa solely to help others with a hand up instead of a hand out. A fully integrated housing development to provide safe housing so that a person or couple can develop the skills and support system that they need to be a contributing member on their own in our 12/18 housing program. LONGER TERM: Develop a complete subdivision of affordable permanent housing with rent of less than $1000.00 per month.

Self-Sufficiency Saturday, and the last day of October.

We closed the month the way we love to: feeding families. Today’s Produce Box Pickup in Maricopa sent 14 boxes of fresh produce home with local families. 3 of those boxes were donated to neighbors in need, at no cost to them.

Thank you to everyone who ordered, picked up, and helped load. Every box you buy helps us give one to a family who can’t.

Starting tomorrow, November is National Homelessness Awareness Month.

🐾 215.5 POUNDS of pet food! 🐾

Maricopa, you showed up for our furry neighbors! The October Pet Food Drive brought in a grand total of 215.5 pounds of pet food for our Boxes of HOPE, Pet Pantry, along with collars, bowls and toys.

All of it goes to families in our community, so no one has to choose between feeding themselves and feeding the pets they love.

A huge thank-you to our volunteers Maria B. and John H., who opened up their porches all month long as drop-off spots and collected every bag, can and squeaky toy. You made giving easy for your neighbors, and we’re so grateful. 💙

And thank you to everyone who dropped something off. This is what community looks like.

Self-sufficiency starts with the basics.

It’s hard to hold down a job or get kids to school when you’re still trying to find a can opener and a set of towels. When a family’s home is stocked, they can put their energy into building stability.

Today's the day! If you reserved a box with us, Join us 9–11 AM behind Chase Bank for our monthly Produce Box Pickup. 🥕🍎

💡 Tip: Make fresh produce last longer. Store greens with a paper towel, keep onions and potatoes apart, and freeze ripe bananas for smoothies.

A bed with no sheets. A kitchen with no plates. A bathroom with no toilet paper.
