Many people think PTSD only affects military veterans, but PTSD can develop after any traumatic experience, including domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, serious accidents, natural disasters, or the sudden loss of a loved one.

During PTSD Awareness Month, we recognize the strength of those living with the effects of trauma and encourage greater understanding of what healing can look like.

Trauma is common. Suffering in silence doesn't have to be.

HLFCC enjoyed attending the Bertram Chamber of Commerce luncheon today and hearing from the Bertram Police Department and R Bank Bertram about fraud prevention.

The presentation highlighted the many ways scammers target individuals and businesses through phone calls, text messages, emails, social media, and financial schemes. As technology continues to evolve, staying informed is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Thank you to the Bertram Chamber, Chief Brantley, Officer McCoy and Lori Ringstaff- R Bank for sharing valuable information and practical tips to help keep our community safe.

We are happy to see this recognition for Investigator Murphy. It’s always encouraging to see local professionals investing in training that strengthens support for survivors and improves outcomes for victims of crime.

Training Announcement

The Llano County Sheriff's Office is proud to recognize Investigator Genesi Murphy for her commitment to professional development and continued excellence in serving victims of crime.

Investigator Murphy recently attended the Crimes Against Women Conference (CCAW), an annual training event that brings together leading experts from across the nation to educate and train first responders, investigators, prosecutors, and community stakeholders on best practices for the identification, investigation, and prosecution of crimes against women.

The conference offers more than 250 workshops, case studies, and hands-on computer labs, providing an interactive learning environment focused on the latest investigative techniques, victim-centered approaches, and collaborative strategies for supporting women affected by crime.

By participating in this specialized training, Investigator Murphy has expanded her knowledge and skills in handling sensitive and complex investigations, further strengthening the Llano County Sheriff's Office's commitment to protecting victims and pursuing justice.

We commend Investigator Murphy for her dedication to continuing education and her ongoing efforts to provide the highest level of service to the citizens of Llano County.

Father's Day Community Voices with Geoffrey Elliott, Manager at Liberty Tax- 213 S US 281, Ste. E, JCTX

Father's Day Community Voices

For Geoffrey Elliott, Manager at Liberty Tax in Johnson City, being a good father means investing in the next generation.

"There is no greater thing than raising up the next generation in the way they should go. The best thing any of us can do is make things better for those who come after us."

Geoffrey encourages fathers to be more than present—to be actively present.

"Show up. Guide them. Encourage them. Correct them when needed and celebrate them when they're doing well. You can't do any of that if you're not there."

This Father's Day, we celebrate fathers who lead by example and make a lasting impact on the lives of their children.
