Today, HLFCC staff had the opportunity to participate in the Building a Stronger Workforce session in Llano County.

We learned a lot, shared perspectives, and were reminded of the importance of working together to strengthen the resources and opportunities available to our community.

We’re grateful to be part of these important conversations and to work alongside so many dedicated community partners.

Today is National Forgiveness Day!

Maybe the person you need to offer forgiveness to is you.

Sometimes, forgiving others can feel easier than forgiving yourself.

You may carry a heavy burden like:

*I should have known better.
*I should have seen the signs.
*I should have left sooner.
*I should have spoken up.
*I should have protected myself.

When you've been hurt, it can be incredibly difficult to let go of the belief that you were responsible for protecting yourself—that somehow, you should have prevented what happened.

But the responsibility for causing harm belongs to the person who caused it.

So today, hear this:

You are allowed to forgive yourself.

Overdose doesn’t have just one face.

It doesn’t always look the way stigma tells us it does. Overdose can be accidental, intentional, or have an undetermined cause. It can affect people from all walks of life, and the impact reaches far beyond the person experiencing it.

In 2024, more than 80,000 people in the U.S. died from a drug overdose. Each number represents a person, a family, and a story.

Today, take a moment to remember those we’ve lost.
