Long time Master Gardener, Barb M, visits with a Blue Earth Cty library patron about what houseplant would work well in his apartment. Barb regularly stocks the "Free Little Plant Library" in the adults reading area.

Barb is very knowledgeable about natives and flowers. If you see her at the library, please feel free to ask her your questions!

Located at 315 Locust street. Drive in, walk by, sit down, enjoy some NEARBY NATURE.

Did you know that morels are the Minnesota State mushroom?
Or that there are more than a dozen varieties of violets native to Minnesota?

Our April and May volunteer meetings were full of wonderful education about spring foraging and these under-rated ephemerals. Thank you to volunteers Crista and Barb for sharing their extensive knowledge with us!

Last month our volunteers participated at Lake Crystal's Arbor Day events! Master Gardeners cleaned up garden beds at Robinson park by Lake Crystal to prep for new native plantings this spring. (More to come on this project!)
They also had a children's table where kids could learn about pollinators, dissect plant parts and view them up close under a magiscope, and spin the wheel for great gardening prizes!

🪱 Worm races and plant safety! Kids had a blast racing paper worms down the track at our annual Blue Earth County Master Gardener plant sale. While the little ones raced, we shared vital info with parents about invasive jumping worms and how our bare-root washing policy keeps our community's gardens safe! 🌱✨

Thank you so much to everyone who came out and supported the annual Blue Earth County Master Gardener plant sale! We had a truly fantastic sale this year, and we couldn't have done it without our wonderful community. Happy gardening, everyone! 🌸🌿

Come visit the Glenwood Gardens Demonstration Garden at 315 Locust Street in Mankato.
The redbud is still blooming and some peonies are just starting to open! Walk through the garden beds and get inspired for Spring.
