Long before the big stages, the rhinestones, and the massive hits, Dolly Parton was a HIGH SCHOOL BAND KID playing snare drum in the Sevier County High marching band!

We can’t help but imagine what Dolly would say if she were here talking to our band students today. Probably something like:
“Shine bright, play proud, love one another, and give this world something worth listening to! And if anybody tells you that you can’t do something, just smile sweetly and prove ’em wrong!”

In honor of Dolly's incredible life, music, and legacy—drop your band instrument or a photo of yourself playing your instrument in the comments!

We are heading into the weekend with terrific news for a recent alum of Mariner Bands! Anthony Doremus is joining the Michigan State University Spartan Marching Band on Bass Trombone this fall!

We are so proud and can't wait to see Anthony on the field at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing!

Go Green! Go White! Go Anthony!
