The Italian Language Foundation is excited to share this teaser for MARIO, a new documentary about the life and legacy of NY Governor Mario Cuomo, father of ILF President and Co-Founder Dr. Margaret I. Cuomo, produced by Life Stories. The film premiered last week at the Tribeca Festival. Stay tuned and follow Life Stories for updates on when it will be available to stream later this year.

Set against the backdrop of Ronald Reagan’s America, MARIO traces Mario Cuomo’s journey from the son of Italian immigrants to the New York governor who championed government as a force for compassion. Through archival footage, family reflections, and excerpts from his personal diaries, the film explores the convictions, humility, and moral purpose that shaped his life and leadership.
