A $5,000 Gift to Our Spiritual Home 🇮🇹⛪️
We are proud to announce that our annual Italian Feast has presented a $5,000 gift to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, the spiritual home of Springfield’s Italian-American community for generations.
Last month, we celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a devotion brought to our neighborhood by immigrants from Bracigliano. Yesterday, we honored the Assunta, a tradition handed down by our Calabrese ancestors. Next month, we will honor Our Lady of Grace, a devotion brought here by the people of Quindici.
Different towns. Different provinces. Different traditions. Yet they share something beautiful: our devotion to the Blessed Mother and our Catholic faith.
Whether our families came from Calabria, Campania, Sicily, Abruzzo, or anywhere else in Italy, today we come together as one Italian-American community.
During yesterday’s Assunta Feast Dinner, our Feast Presidents, Ricky Albano and Anna Daniele, and Club President Salvatore Circosta proudly presented the $5,000 check to Father Robert White on behalf of our Feast and our Italian-American community.
Each July, thousands gather in Springfield’s Little Italy to honor the Blessed Mother and celebrate the faith and traditions handed down to us by those who came before us. Our Feast would not be possible without our parish, our volunteers, our Feast Committee, and the generations of families who have kept these traditions alive.
This gift is more than a donation. It is an investment in the church that has baptized our children, married our families, buried our loved ones, celebrated our feast days, and remained the spiritual home of our community for generations.
We are proud to support Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and help ensure that this beautiful legacy of faith, family, and Italian tradition continues for generations to come.
Viva Maria! Viva la Madonna del Carmine! Viva la nostra comunità italiana! 🇮🇹
