⚾ Manchester Mustangs 12U Gray Bring Home Runner-Up Finish in York! ⚾
The Manchester Mustangs 12U Gray team earned a second-place finish at the inaugural Battle at Odeon tournament in York, Pennsylvania, this past weekend.
The Mustangs battled their way through the tournament with three consecutive victories before falling in the championship game to the High Heat Baseball Club of Gettysburg. Competing in just their first tournament since the team was formed during the Fall 2026 season, the players showcased tremendous talent, teamwork, and determination throughout the five-game event.
Offensively, the Mustangs were on fire, posting an impressive .393 team batting average while launching seven home runs:
Shane Switzer — 4 home runs
AJ Walters — 2 home runs
Nolan Scaljon — 1 home run
Leading the team at the plate were:
Brogan Patten — 8 hits
Jeremy Utz — 7 hits
Eli Willett — 6 hits
One of the highlights of the weekend came in the semifinal game, when the Mustangs rallied from behind in their final at-bat. With two outs, Patrick Liberty and Brogan Patten delivered clutch RBI hits, setting the stage for towering home runs by AJ Walters and Shane Switzer. The late surge propelled Manchester past the Hanover Rampage and into the championship game.
Manchester utilized nine pitchers during the two-day tournament. The pitching staff consistently threw strikes, while the defense made key plays throughout the weekend, keeping the hot-hitting Mustangs in position to win and advance.
