🚨‼️🐾 URGENT TRANSPORT HELP NEEDED 🐾‼️🚨
We were contacted by a local ER about a 6 month old Yorkie mix who sustained serious head trauma when he was thrown during a domestic dispute. The people who had him are unable to pay for any medical treatment and they reached out to see if we could help.

How could we say no?!

We need a 🚗TRANSPORTER🚗to help give him a ride from Bowie MD to Bristow VA at NOON today so he can continue his medical care 🙏 If you are able to help give him a ride, please email us at [email protected] 🙏

💃🐶🐾Say hello to the "S" girls!! 🐾🐶💃
Sunny, Star, and Star 2 (a new name TBD) are the 3 remaining girls of the S litter. We will introduce their brothers tomororw.

They just turned 7 weeks old yesterday and are thriving in their foster homes! All 3 girls are playful, friendly, and happy go lucky, typical lab mix personality. They play well with their siblings and their fosters' resident dogs. They are sorta starting to understand the concept of potty training, and are working on crate training. Due to their young age, they are working hard on being more independent, but currently still need a lot of support and a lot of cuddle time. They weigh a whooping 5-6lbs at this time 💪

We are ONLY considering adopters who are home most of the day as they puppies are at a critical age where they need a lot of care and all the socialization they can get! Being left alone and crated for hours each day is detrimental to their development.

Libby, short for Liberty 🗽, came to us from a sad past. She was rescued from a home where she was kept in and tied to a bathtub. Her coat was thin and was chopped up like a kid was given a pair of scissors ✂️ and went to town.

Despite it all, she is the most loving and sweet little girl. Libby loves to be around her adult foster humans, and tolerates the fast moving little human as well (although takes some getting used to). She is a bit shy at first when meeting new people, but warms up quickly ❤️

She loves to play with her toys🧸but also knows when it's time to relax and loves to cuddle up. She walks beautifully on the leash and is gentle when she puts her paws on you for reassurance. While she rarely has an accident in the house, she is still working on her potty training and is doing very well when kept on a schedule. She sleeps perfectly in the crate, but doesn't love being in it when her foster parents have to run out. She just loves her people too much!

This 1.5-2 year old 15lb girlie would be the perfect match for someone looking for a loving and playful short stack whose goal in life is to be her humans' best friend.

Sweet happy boy Gus needs a way out of the shelter. This 2-3 year old 55lbs smart cookie is a happy medium energy pup. The shelter where Gus landed is in CODE RED 💢and he's at risk of not ever making it out. He has been dog tested and has done well with other dogs. We do not know how he does around cats.

And they're here!!... 🐾🐶🚗

The litter of 9 arrived yesterday afternoon. And it was CUTENESS. OVERLOAD. 🥰😘😍 We are SO grateful for the student volunteers who helped wrangle the puppies and give the puppies a nice bath. And the transport volunteers who gave up their birthday celebration to give the puppies a ride!! And our amazing vet who donated hours of her free time after working a long shift!! 🙏🙏

These 6.5-week-old lab mixes range from 5-6lbs. All are healthy and happy, and hungry hungry hippos 🦛 All have settled in their foster homes safely, and several are still accepting applications. Unless the adopters have playful resident dogs, they will remain in their foster homes for another two weeks so they can continue to work on socialization with their littermates or foster dog siblings before we release them to their forever homes.

Our shelter contact just reached out about 9 6-week old lab mix puppies in need of rescue. They were found under an abandoned house 💔 The puppies are arriving this Saturday. While we received multiple applications to foster, several changed their minds and several we were unable to proceed due to current resident animals not being up to date on vaccines.

FOUR PUPPIES STILL NEED PLACEMENTS!! We are looking for fosters and/or adopters to take the pups either in PAIRS (due to their age) or singletons if there is a resident dog to socialize the puppies.

Sometimes, we wonder why some dogs go unnoticed without a single application or interest 🤔 Nessie is the perfect girl who we took in from our Emergency Veterinary partner 4.5 months ago when her owners could not afford her care when she was just 4 months old. She had suspected pneumonia and a possible foreign body. Thankfully, Nessie recovered well and she’s been looking for her forever family for quite some time! 💞

Nessie is almost 9 months old now, weighs 50lbs and will be spayed soon. She is a master de-fluffer 🧸💨 and lover who loves to run in the yard followed by big naps 💤 . She is still high energy🏇🏼, loves all people. Nessie loves to play but prefers calm and gentle dogs who match her energy🧩. Barking dogs are a bit scary for her🙉.

Nessie is losing her foster as an occupant in the home is extremely allergic and Nessie needs a place where she can continue to grow and flourish✨. Are you it?

Sweet Malu is a 5 month old leggy floppy puppy. We are not sure what he's mixed with but he is a big boy! Already tipping the scale at 45lbs, he is on his way to be a decent sized pup when full grown. He's potty and crate trained.

Malu unfortunately is losing his home due to housing issues. His human wants do badly to keep him, but unfortunately is unable to. We would like to help keep him out of the shelter and take him into our care.

Meet Gretchen! This sweet older gal was a stray in Texas, found pregnant. We’re told she’s about 7-9yrs old, however most times, they’re a bit younger than estimated. Due to Gretchen being an older gal, it was determined for her to have a spay abort. Gretchen deserves to live her life in a loving home and be given all the love she deserves.

Gretchen is heartworm positive and will need to be in a home close to one of our partner vets so she can receive her treatment in Bristow, VA, Elkridge, MD, or Suffolk, VA.

This girl has lots of life as you can see in her video and nothing but love.
