HAPPY ADOPTION DAY DULCE!!! 😽💕

You guys will NEVER believe this, but Dulce officially found her forever home with her two best friends Junebug and Ladybug!!! 😭 Dulce originally came to us as a solo kitten so we introduced her to Junebug and Ladybug to make sure she had some friends to play with. The three quickly became inseparable!!

When Junebug and Ladybug’s adopters came to pick them up Dulce was running around with her besties per usual and immediately took a liking to their new family. She was climbing all over them, sitting on their shoulders and practically BEGGING to go home with them too!! 🤣

They absolutely adored her but had never owned more than two cats before, so we offered them a foster to adopt trial! Take her home for a week or so, see how things go and if three kittens felt like too much, she could always come back to us.

Well - needless to say DULCE IS NOT COMING BACK!!! Her family officially finalized her adoption and we couldn’t be happier!! 😭🥹 Not only did this sweet girl find an incredible forever home, but she gets to spend the rest of her life growing up with her TWO BEST FRIENDS!!! 🫶🏼

ADOPTION APPLICATIONS ARE OFFICIALLY OPEN! 💖

Our adorable “Friends” litter is officially accepting adoption applications!!! 😻 Meet Rachel, Monica, Chandler and Joey! These four sweet babies were found on someone’s porch right here in Manassas and they are seriously the sweetest kittens! They are all incredibly friendly, outgoing, playful and cuddly, with the BEST little personalities. They also do great with other cats, dogs and kids! 🥹

We’ve already received SO many inquiries and applications, especially for Rachel! While we absolutely love seeing so much interest in these babies, our ultimate goal is to find each kitten the home where we feel they will be the happiest and thrive the most. 🫶🏼

We do want to remind everyone that submitting an application does not guarantee an adoption or reserve a specific kitten. Unfortunately, we frequently have people reach out, submit applications and then suddenly stop responding or change their minds at the last minute. Because of this, we do not consider an adoption finalized until the kitten has gone home and the adoption checkout process is complete!

We will be giving preference to previous Mila’s Mission adopters and families interested in adopting a pair! 💕 Our priority will always be finding the best possible match for both our kittens and their future families!

All kittens go home:

* Spayed/neutered
* Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations
* FIV/FeLV tested negative
* Dewormed
* Flea treated
* Microchipped

Do you think Spooky knows he’s famous??? 🖤🖤🖤

After a wonderful week of adoptions, we decided to help a shelter that has been completely overwhelmed with cats and kittens by taking in a few babies who desperately needed somewhere to go. I was originally planning on taking seven, but the shelter director asked me to take one more. She said all he does is sit in his cage and make biscuits and of course I couldn’t say no 😭 She said she had a cute video of it and I asked her to send it to me so I could share it and hopefully find someone interested in adopting him in a few weeks.

Well… somehow that video has now reached OVER 1 MILLION VIEWS AND COUNTING 🤯 My phone has been blowing up ALL day with adoption inquiries about Spooky and we are beyond grateful for everyone who has reached out and shown him so much love!

But PLEASE we’re begging you - don’t forget about our other kittens 🥹😭 We have so many other adorable babies who are just as deserving of loving homes. The only difference is that their videos didn’t go viral. We even have another precious black male kitten Joey who is full of personality and will be ready to go home in two days!

Spooky is currently only 1.3 pounds, so he still has a few weeks of growing to do before he can be fully vetted and ready for adoption. We have absolutely no doubt he’ll find an amazing family, but in the meantime, PLEASE consider opening your heart and home to one of our other kittens. Every adoption opens up space for us to save another life and there are SO many more waiting for their second chance. 😿

Spooky may have gone viral, but every single one of our kittens deserves to be seen and chosen. 🖤

Please - spay and neuter your pets. Learn how to TNR. Volunteer, foster, adopt, donate or simply share a rescue’s posts. There are SO many ways to make a difference and you don’t have to run a rescue to help save lives.

Be the change you wish to see. You don’t have to save every animal to make a difference. Just start with one. ❤️‍🩹

TODAY’S EXCITING NEWS!!! 🥹💌

The reality of rescue is that there will ALWAYS be cats in need. Every single day. No matter how many you save, there will always be more waiting for someone to give them a chance. So when you have the space to help you HELP! 🫶🏼

Thanks to our AMAZING adopters these last few weeks, we have the space to welcome EIGHT new babies into Mila’s Mission today!!! 😭

This afternoon, we’ll be heading to Richmond to meet with our friends Halifax County Va Animal Shelter to pull EIGHT adorable cats and kittens and give them the best possible chance at finding their forever families here in Northern Virginia!

Their shelter has been completely overwhelmed with cats these last few months and unfortunately, this is the reality for so many shelters. They depend heavily on rescues stepping in because without those rescue pulls, the futures of so many of these animals could look very different. 💔

A few of these babies are also sick with URIS and ear mites and will need additional veterinary care, so taking in eight at once is a HUGE financial commitment for our little rescue! If anyone is able to contribute toward their medical expenses, we would be SO incredibly grateful. Every single dollar makes a difference and helps us continue saving lives! 🫶🏼

A HUGE thank you to Kaitlyn for everything you do for these babies and for helping us help them!! We feel beyond grateful to have the space, time and resources to give eight more little lives a second chance. EIGHT new faces, EIGHT new stories and hopefully EIGHT happy endings!!! 🥹🐾

I wish I could tell them there's nothing wrong with them. 💔

Sometimes I look at Rainy & Misty and just wish I could explain to them that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with them. That they’re just as cute, just as sweet and just as deserving of a forever home as every other kitten who has already been adopted 🥹

It’s been 77 DAYS and they’ve watched all of their siblings get adopted, along with so many other kittens who have come and gone. And every time another kitten goes home, I can’t help but wonder when it’s finally going to be their turn. 😿

Obviously they don’t understand what an adoption application is or that nobody has filled one out for them, but I do. And it genuinely breaks my heart because I know how amazing these two girls are.

I just wish someone would give them a chance and see what I see. They have SO much love to give and deserve to be someone’s whole world too. 😭🥹

ARE TABBIES ACTUALLY THE MOST OVERLOOKED CATS IN RESCUE?! 😿

If you had asked me this a week ago, I would’ve immediately said it’s black cats. 100%. Thankfully, there’s been so much awareness brought to how overlooked black cats and tuxedos are that more people are intentionally choosing them now… but what about the tabbies?! 😭

Meet Rainy & Misty. These two girls have been with us for 75 DAYS and in that entire time, neither one has received a single adoption application or even a serious inquiry. People comment that they’re cute, tell us they’re adorable… and then keep scrolling. Meanwhile, they’ve watched every single one of their siblings get adopted and so many other kittens come and go, while no one seems to stop and choose them. 💔

They’re around 16 weeks old and were found right here in Manassas living outside in someone’s backyard. They’re sweet, gentle, playful, laid-back and SO calm that sometimes I genuinely wonder if anyone told them they’re kittens 😂 I have a tabby girl myself and she is one of the sweetest, calmest, most gentle cats I’ve ever had and these two remind me so much of her.

Rainy & Misty do NOT have to be adopted together as they are not a bonded pair and would both do well in separate homes. But they do genuinely love each other, are always cuddled up together and I definitely don’t think either one would complain if someone decided to take them both. 😽

HAPPY ADOPTION DAY BUZZ, CLOUDY & SUNNY!!! 🥳🖤🤍

We have been SO beyond lucky this week with the most amazing adopters, including this family who adopted THREE of our boys together!!! They initially reached out looking to adopt a pair, especially black cats, so we thought Buzz and Sunny would be a great fit. But then they saw how attached Sunny and Cloudy were and decided… what’s one more?! 🤣

So overnight, their fur family went from four to lucky number seven! 🤩 We are so incredibly thankful for all of the adoptions we’ve had this week. Every single adoption opens up space for us to save more lives and because of these amazing families, we already have SEVEN more little lives saved and coming into our care very soon 😭

Here’s to the happiest forever, boys!!! We are going to miss you so much but knowing you all get to grow up together makes our hearts so happy 🫶🏼
