Wicket is HOME and recovering ❤️

Thank you everyone who shared his post and donated- however we severely under raised what was needed to help him, and until we gets funds back up, other surgeries and needs have to be put on hold.

Wicket's bill plus our other spay and neuters came in at $4400 yesterday and we only raised $400 in donations 🫠
This also doesn't include Birdie's amputation which was done at our other vet partner. And the fact that we came in about $800 short on donations for her first life saving surgery.

Being a 501(c)3, we rely heavily on the support of our community. We don't ever want to turn down a pet in need because of funds, but without donations we simply cannot help them.

SMILEY GUY INCOMING - IT'S BRUNO!

🐾 Birdie Update & Meet Wicket 🐾

Today is a big day for two very special rescue cats.

First, an update on Birdie! ❤️

Birdie has been doing amazing. Her chest has healed beautifully, and she’s breathing great. Today, she goes in for her long-awaited amputation surgery to finally remove her injured leg. This surgery will allow her to be pain-free and puts her one huge step closer to being ready for adoption.

Birdie is truly one of the sweetest cats we’ve ever met, and without your support, we would never have been able to save her life. While we were unable to fully cover the cost of her emergency chest surgery, today’s procedure will add another $800 to her medical expenses.

If you’re able to contribute toward Birdie’s care, we would be incredibly grateful and we desperately need it..

Now, we’d like to introduce Wicket. 💔

Wicket was brought in after being found as a stray and was expected to receive routine veterinary care. Instead, we discovered something alarming…his intestines have pushed through his abdominal wall and are sitting just beneath his skin.

We don’t know what caused this injury, and we don’t know how long he’s been living with it, but we do know that leaving it untreated is incredibly dangerous.

Today, Wicket is heading to our emergency veterinary clinic to determine whether surgery can repair the damage and return his organs to where they belong. In many ways, his situation is similar to Birdie’s original emergency. The difference is that Birdie’s organs had moved into her chest and were compressing her lungs, while Wicket’s organs are displaced within his abdomen.

What we do know is that Wicket needs help, and that help is going to cost thousands of dollars.

On top of Birdie’s surgery and Wicket’s emergency care, we also have five spay surgeries and two neuters scheduled today. It will be one of the biggest financial hits our rescue has taken in quite some time.

We never want finances to determine whether an animal gets a chance at life. But in order to continue saying “yes” to animals like Birdie and Wicket, we need your help.

HAPPY TAILS, PETUNIA!

This sweet Tortie girl was rescued when it was raining cats and dogs in Kissimmee - literally! She recently went to her furr-ever home, joining a family who adopted a cat from us about a year ago. MEET BUDDY - a sweet, affectionate kitten who has a whole lot of personality packed into his tiny body. He loves exploring, making any and everything into a game, and stealing hearts to make everyone his new friend.

Meet Chopo 🐾

Chopo is a 3–4-year-old cuddle bug with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Found in the woods in Poinciana just a few months ago, he’s come a long way and is ready for a home where he can feel safe, loved, and understood.

He’s fully vetted (neutered, up-to-date on shots, heartworm negative, and on yearly prevention) and has great basic manners—Chopo is house-trained, crate-trained, leash-trained, and knows sit. He also does great for baths and absolutely lives for cuddle time. He is approximately 65-70 lbs.

Chopo is a playful, energetic boy who can be a little hyper at times, but it’s all part of his charm. He’s great with kids and loves being around his people.

When it comes to other pets, Chopo will need a thoughtful home. He can be nervous and requires slow introductions with other dogs. He also shows resource guarding (food, bones, and toys) around other dogs, so he would do best as the only pet or with an experienced owner who can properly manage and train through those behaviors. He may also mark indoors if he smells another male dog.

He’s curious about cats but hasn’t been fully tested.

Chopo has also overcome some medical challenges—he received eye surgery for an entropion and an ulcer—and is now healthy and ready to thrive.

Despite everything he’s been through, Chopo is incredibly loving and loyal. He just needs the right environment to shine.

Meet Dani, a shining star who's been through a remarkable journey!

When we first met her, she had a large tumor in her eye, but we knew we had to help her sparkle again. And sparkle she does! After a successful surgery, her eye is now tumor-free and radiant. We're still wondering how this sweet and friendly cat ended up in a colony, but we're grateful to have her in our care.
Dani is a social butterfly who loves people, kids and cats, but would prefer no dogs. She's a chatterbox who'll follow you everywhere and steal your heart. This 3-year-old gem is spayed, vaccinated, and healthy, despite being FIV positive. She's ready to shine in her forever home!

Meet Frisco – The Cat Who Hates You (But Will Love Your Cat)

Looking for a cat that doesn't want to cuddle, won't climb into your lap, and would prefer you maintain a healthy six-foot emotional radius at all time- Frisco is the cat for you!

Frisco is a 1 year old Domestic Long Hair with runway-model looks and the personality of a broody art critic. He won't snuggle. He won't purr for you. He will, however, sit nearby and silently judge your life choices while being the absolute best friend your cat has ever had. He loves every cat he meets and even tolerates dogs (his foster home has four, and he hasn’t staged a coup yet). He’s also been exposed to kids and has decided to peacefully ignore their entire existence.
He won’t hide — he’s too fabulous for that. But don’t get your hopes up: you can't hold him, you can't cuddle him, and if you try to get too close, you will only see the majestic blur of his tail as he exits the room. Think of Frisco as a very fancy, self-cleaning decorative pillow with occasional side-eyes.
