Contemporary Ornate Pictorial Calligraphy - Sunday Nov 2nd

Join Linda Schneider on a creative journey using markers and/or pointed pen nibs to turn basic strokes into flourishes.
With the Holiday’s around the corner, you will have images you can use making cards, designs you can frame, or just making a little gift to make someone smile. We will be using materials you can carry with you on the go to practice or as an act of kindness.
The fundamental technique to achieve the beautiful thin and thick strokes of a flourished design is through pressure and release. This skill can be learned with the markers and then applied
to the pointed pen. The class is for first time beginners to the advanced
students. Come and learn how to impress your family and friends with fun flourishes.

Brief Membership Meeting followed by two After Meeting Programs (AMP).

Vivian Mungall will guide us through “Creative Journals for Play, Process, & Possibility”
This program introduces a journaling practice to help your creativity, lettering , and artistry grow. This is meant to be a personal journal for ideas and inspiration; not meant for perfection.
What to Bring —
A notebook, sketchpad, or printer paper.
Micron pens, brush markers, watercolors, colored pencils - anything you enjoy
using to be creative.
Your curiosity and imagination.

The second program will be Akim Cursive with Susan Largen. A simple, easily learned handwriting style, Akim Cursive requires only a writing implement (pencil, pen, marker) and something to write on. Easy to practice anywhere for anything - waiting rooms, airport gate areas, grocery lists, “to-do” notes, labels, +++.
