From ropes course challenges to leadership workshops, celebrating birthdays to serving dinner with the KY Commissioner of Ag… This years FFA Camp was one to remember!

The week was spent to help the new officers bond, while also giving them crucial time to plan a PACKED year of activities! From old classics to new experiences - we can’t wait to get things rolling!

Shoutout to officers Westyn Miles and Maggie Killough for earning a special service grant that will grow our Hometown Heroes event this fall!

Thanks to camp staff and the Kentucky FFA Leadership Training Center for a great week!

What an incredible week for our chapter at the Kentucky FFA State Convention!

We are especially proud of our state speech competitors and their achievements:
🏆 Westyn Miles – Agricultural Mechanics Speech – State Champion (1st Place)
🏆 Aleigha Hughes – Dairy Speech – 3rd Place

Also representing our chapter in the State Speech Contest were:
-Andree Boggess – Extemporaneous Speaking
-Taylor Pryor – Poultry Speech
-Damien Marlow – Turf & Lawn Care Speech
-Lilli Norman – Floral Speech

Congratulations as well to Aleigha Hughes, who competed in the Kentucky FFA Shark Tank Contest and earned $1,000 as an investment into her business- Barnyard Bliss Photography.

A special congratulations to Lilli Norman for serving on the State Nominating Committee, representing our region and chapter with professionalism and leadership.

We would also like to recognize our Kentucky FFA State Degree recipients:

⭐ Kari Martin

The Kentucky FFA State Degree is one of the highest honors bestowed upon FFA members and recognizes outstanding achievement in agricultural education, leadership, and supervised agricultural experiences.

Our chapter was also recognized through the National Chapter Award program, placing in the top 10% of chapters in Kentucky and earning:
🏆 3rd Place – Growing Leaders Division
🏆 2nd Place – Strengthening Agriculture Division
🏆 2nd Place – Building Communities Division

Thanks to the success of our members and chapter throughout the convention, our students and program earned a total of $2,550 from the Kentucky FFA Foundation.

We are incredibly proud of these students and all of the members who represented Madisonville North Hopkins FFA throughout the week. Whether competing, earning degrees, serving in leadership roles, or showcasing the impact of our chapter, they demonstrated the hard work, dedication, and excellence that make our program special.

Just in! Congratulations to Aleigha Hughes for being selected as a Kentucky FFA Shark Tank Grant finalist!

Aleigha will present at State Convention in June for the opportunity to earn $5,000 to support her photography business, Barnyard Bliss Photography. We are so proud of her hard work, creativity, and dedication to growing her SAE!

Final project of the year for GIC - 20 Adirondack chairs for the KY State Fair! Not your typical submissions, but a special project to help in their special celebration plans.

Thanks to the KY State Fair Board for partnering with us, can’t wait to see them this August! The perfect spot to sit after 1, 2… or 50… trips to the food trucks!

Another shirt recipient to GIC - just in time as we finish one of our final builds of the year! Join us in congratulating Mr. Carter Pirtle for stepping up in both math and shop - adding his name to the class shirt.

This year has been one for the history books as we finalize our last 2 projects next week. Stay tuned to see the final results!

What an incredible first broiler project season! 🐔

Over the past two months, our Animal Science students have worked hard raising and caring for our broiler flock while gaining hands-on experience in poultry production, animal care, record keeping, and facility management.

We are excited to share that all of our chickens officially sold out! Thank you so much to everyone who purchased a bird and supported our students and agriculture program.

This project came with plenty of learning experiences along the way, but it was incredible to watch students experience the full process from day-old chicks all the way to processing day. We were also excited to hear positive feedback from the processor on the overall quality and health of our birds, with several even exceeding our projected 8 lb size!

A huge thank you to our students, supporters, families, and Misty Lea Poultry Processing for helping make this project possible. We’re already excited for future flocks! 💙💛

Last week we held our annual chapter banquet - recognizing 90+ various awards throughout the year. To all members - congrats on a job well done!

Special congrats to Mrs. Melissa Taylor for being awarded our honorary degree - through helping setup multiple partnerships through the Humane Society.

Also congrats to this year’s workhorse recipients - Riley Peyton and Bella Allnutt. Your dedication over the years has been greatly appreciated!

Congrats to William Blake for earning the Spark of Excellence award!

Fantastic work by the 2025-26 team, a year of many milestones due to the work you lead behind the scenes!
