Merry Christmas to all. Thisis the time of year when the temp is falling. Please pray for our homeless veterans. Some of them are sleeping out side without shelter.
Vans for vets is committed to helping as many as we can.
Oftentimes many veterans are unwilling to admit they need help . We are asking for your help to find veterans in need.
If know any one that might need our help , please leave a message where I might be able receive the information.

Good morning I hope everyone had a good weekend. We here at Vans for Vets, are very excited to be in our building and working on an van projected to be a new home for a homeless vet. It’s our hope that this will be ready for Christmas. We are still in need of a few items such as any camping supplies, buddy heaters, cook stoves, propane tanks and propane lines that are necessary to make this van livable through winter. There is a great concern for information about homeless veterans in the nearby area. When we go a great distance to help people in need it sometimes becomes a physical problem for us locally. But we try if at all possible to help the situation. If you know of homeless veterans, near or far, and relay the information to us it would be appreciated. With help from our supporters we can try to reach out to them over the distances.
We have been extremely fortunate this year to get our shop built. Thankfully our bank has made it possible with a great low interest loan. That makes it possible for us to afford it rather than rent.
If it wasn’t for Legacy Metal from Hopkinsville putting together a building plan that we could afford, this would not have been possible. The great people from Legacy Metal worked tirelessly until they made it work for us. To people like Ted, Dennis and Ray, thank you so much for all your help.
I can’t say enough how impressed I was by the precision and regard towards details, everything had to be exact. We are indebted to Legacy Metal and their great crews, thank you.

Good morning. I’m late in posting this and I took too long. About a week ago a lady called me and said she had some items for vans for vets. I was anxious about what it was and arranged a time to meet. I had been running for days trying to catch up. At the meet we were both in a hurry. So I spent very little time loading the items into my car. Making haste we both left with out so much as saying goodbye. Several days later, I stopped long enough to see what was in the boxes . Piece by piece I began to notice that in the boxes were everything necessary to outfit a kitchen. Utensils of all kinds, even down to a coffee pot. What a wonderful thoughtful gift for some homeless vet. I want to encourage others to do the same with the thoughts in mind that homeless pretty well means having nothing. This gift is so appreciated and will make someone very proud. I am proud to know there are people out there willing to help in so many ways for our veterans. Thank you so very much.

Here I am sitting in front of
my fireplace this morning and realizing that the last three nights have been below freezing, about how unbearable this must be to our homeless veterans. They are having to deal with the elements with no heat or protection.
There is an acronym that has been circulated is this society for many years now that is ptsd, post traumatic stress disorder. This disorder is horrific and debilitating to our young soldiers. This country should be more concerned about the problem of our soldiers than the living condition of our illegal aliens. I apologize for getting on my political soap box, but it infuriates me that our young people have to come back from war and have to spend the rest of their lives reliving it and our government doesn’t pull out the stops to alleviate it.
There is another term that is prevalent in this society and that is “homeless veteran”. I don’t care what the reason, in this country, the term homeless and vet should not be. I am committed to find one homeless veteran and help him or her have a place to stay warm and dry, and fed . I challenge you to do the same thing. I can can not manage this massive task by myself but if everyone who helps support this page, we can help many. We have so many faithful supporters and I am thankful for that. Last year we were able to help provide a van to three homeless veterans. This year our hope is to be able provide five vans .
Our goal is to have a van outfitted and ready for Christmas. Again I say if you know of any veteran that is in need, please let us know so we might reach out to them. Donations can be food, bedding, towels or linens, personal items, anything that you could use in a camping situation. Of course monetary donations can be sent also .
We have posted information necessary so anyone who is able to make a donation can be tax deductible, it can be tax deductible. If you need further information email me and we can talk more. My email is [email protected].
Right now we are gathering part and materials necessary to turn this into a temporary home for our homeless veterans. If you are able to help we here at vans for vets, would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for all you do and all that you have done.

Sherry finally finished our sign. She worked very hard on it, and we appreciate it so much. At this point, it would be impossible to list everyone and every company that has helped us and are still helping us. However some of them wanted to remain anonymous. Our appreciation goes out to those people.

Good morning, vans for vets supporters . After a very busy month of trying to prepare a level spot for building, we are getting ready to start on our next project.
We are starting on a 15 passenger van. This van is big enough it will provide adequate living space for person to live in until till we can find permanent living space for our veterans. However the engine has been run hot. Therefore, we are looking for heads and parts to repair the damage. This van is dry inside, it drives good so it will make good dry place for a homeless vet. This year we are partners with Little Bethel’s Bapist Association , 445 Thompson Avenue , Madisonville Ky 42431 . This way if you are help us financially you can get a tax deductible receipt from us.
We know that right now finances are tight . But our homeless veterans are in great need. Please pray and see if there anyway you can help us.
We are asking our supporters to see if there any homeless veterans that you know of. If so, please contact us so that we might be able to help them.

We are very excited this morning because the crew came to start our new garage. Finally we can have a place of our own where we can get inside out of weather to work on our vans year around. For almost four years we have been working outside or borrowing space to work on our intended homes for homeless vets.
Now God has blessed us with a place where we can put our parts tools and food supplies. What a blessing.

Hello to our many supporters, I apologize for being so lax in not keeping everyone updated. In the future I promise to be more viligent.
We here at Vans do Vets have been so busy trying to repair vans and provide parts and materials necessary to complete the job.
Some times it takes a substantial amount of time to facilitate funding and material nesassary to complete the jobs. Without help from our friends at some of American Legion s, churches, and so many devoted people, we would not have be able to accomplish what we have done.
It has been a long hot summer. Fall and winter will be here, and we are working very hard to get couple of vans so they will ready for a homeless veteran. There is a great need for financing so we can be prepared for fall.
Yesterday we here at Van for Vets were fortunate to meet a couple men from the Iron Order that so graciously offered their time to prepare vans and help raise finances.
Last week , because of the heat, we lost a engine in one of our vans. Now there is a push to raise enough funding to get it back on the road. Here is one of the latest projects that we have been prepping to go. Preparations include bedding, storage, a type of heating, food and anything we can think of to help them to live until adequate housing is able to be found for them.

Today here at vans for vets, we were able to help a veteran in need. Which is our goal , whatever it might be. This particular veteran is not homeless but if he has any other unfortunate mishaps he could be. However we were able to assist him in some personal needs. Because of our faithful supporters we had what was necessary to help with food and living supplies. Reaching out to our supporters, we ask that you be in prayer for him. A huge Thank you to all who support us and honor our veterans.

Today vans for vets would like to wish a happy birthday to one most dedicated hard worker I have ever had the honor to work with .
Sheridan has so much compassion for homeless veterans nothing can stop her from accomplishing her goals when it come to preparing a van for a vet.
We all want to wish her well and she have a wonderful day on her birthdays 🎉

Finally vans for vets was able to finish the preparations on this van. Today this van is making it possible for a veteran to receive help to get in out the weather and live for hope for better days to come. Today it is our desire that this country remove the terminology homeless vets from our vocabulary.
If the American people will ban together we can eliminate the need for our veterans to be homeless.
This weekend let’s all remember our soldiers that gave everything for us. And never forget the families that lost their love ones.
