Another great meeting in the books! Thanks to 811 and Atmos Energy for sponsoring our meeting this week reminding us all to call 811 BEFORE we break ground! In addition, President Jordan Wilson presented $1,000 scholarships to Emma Duncan and Andrew Townsell. Thanks to our generous sponsors of our golf outing, we are able to continue offering these! Congratulations to Randy Brewer who won the $53 1/2 pot drawing!!

Thanks to Atmos Energy for sponsoring our meeting last night where our 2026 Officers/Directors/Board were sworn in. Outgoing President Jon Wilson of Ricky Wilson Construction, had the privilege of swearing in his son, Jordan Wilson, as our 2026 President. Jordan is the grandson of Ricky Wilson, who also served as the HBA’s president, making three generations of Wilsons that have served as President! In addition, we held our first ever Bingo night....what a fun time by all!

📣 UPDATE: SB 9 Moves Forward
This morning, Senate Bill 9—sponsored by Sen. Robby Mills—passed out of the Senate Standing Committee on State and Local Government with strong support.

SB 9 is a priority housing bill that builds on the work of the Kentucky Housing Task Force by giving communities new tools to expand home construction across the Commonwealth. The bill allows infrastructure costs to be financed over time and creates a framework for local governments to partner with developers on residential projects—reducing upfront costs, speeding up development, and keeping decisions local.

HBAK President Todd Millay shared, “For our members, infrastructure costs are often the biggest barriers to getting homes built. SB 9 provides practical tools—both infrastructure financing and local development partnerships—that help builders move projects forward and deliver the housing Kentucky families need.”

📌 What’s next?
SB 9 now heads to the full Senate for consideration.
