That’s our marketing manager!

Since joining the Morgridge Center in 2017, Xai has played an integral role in shaping the center’s marketing and communications, as well as laying a foundation for student development, collaboration, and inclusivity.

Our center would not be what it is today without Xai’s commitment and work.

We are incredibly proud of our board member, Xai Xiong, for winning the "Young Professional of the Year" runner-up award at the Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce's 20th Annual HWCC Business Awards! 🏆

This well-deserved recognition is a testament to Xai’s passion, leadership, and unwavering commitment to uplifting others and creating meaningful change in our communities.

Seventeen faculty members from across UW–Madison have been selected for the ninth cohort of the Morgridge Fellows program. Over the next year, they will explore how community engagement can become an even stronger part of their teaching, research and scholarship.

Led by Morgridge Center Assistant Director of Community-Engaged Scholarship David Lassen and Community-Engaged Scholarship Manager Cory Sprinkel, the program supports faculty in building equitable, reciprocal partnerships that connect the work of the university with the knowledge, experiences and goals of communities.

Throughout the year, fellows will spend time in the community, building relationships with local residents, leaders and organizations while learning how those connections can shape and strengthen their work.

From nursing and social work to English, engineering, economics and landscape architecture, this year’s cohort brings together faculty from a wide range of disciplines and areas of expertise.

In case you missed it: we've rebranded our Badger Volunteers program.

Three new models will now be a focus of Badger Volunteers, which will let students identify which opportunity they would be interested in. They are Activate, Elevate, and Educate.

Since the program’s inception in 2008, Badger Volunteers has provided UW-Madison students semester-long volunteer opportunities that pairs them with community organizations to volunteer one to four hours each week at the same organization.
