A Rubber Ducky Diaper Depot Story

Foundation for Rural Housing, Inc., a WISCAP member agency, currently operates the Rubber Ducky Diaper Depot. Through this grant, WISCAP and its member agencies will help expand their reach to low-income families throughout Wisconsin. Families in need receive diapers consistently, maximizing distribution to low-income families across the state.

Grandparents Stepping Up

Recently, a grandmother caring for her three young grandchildren in central Wisconsin found herself struggling to keep up with the rising cost of essentials while living on a fixed income. Diapers quickly became one of the family’s largest monthly expenses.

Through our diaper program, she received a consistent supply of diapers, easing financial pressure and allowing her to focus on what mattered most: providing stability, love, and care during a difficult transition for the kids.

For grandparents and caregivers stepping in during a time of crisis, diapers are more than an essential item; they are a source of relief, dignity, and support.

Where Leadership Meets Community Action.

Wisconsin State Representative Kalan Haywood of Assembly District 16 says, “As a lifelong Milwaukeean, I am deeply appreciative of the steady support UMOS, Inc. has provided to migrant communities in the Milwaukee area. For decades, UMOS has helped these workers and their families meet their basic needs such as housing, food security, and healthcare. In addition, UMOS creates opportunities for growth through education and employment programs. As migrant and immigrant workers make up a significant percentage of Milwaukee’s workforce, UMOS’ contributions are an invaluable resource to the city, and I applaud their commitment to the well-being and prosperity of these communities. It is my hope that this important work can continue with the ongoing support of government agencies and community partners.”

Thank you Representative Kalan Haywood for supporting Community Action!
