WHA HEALTH CARE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT
Dr. Wendy Ledesma, a 2022 graduate of the WHA Health Care Leadership Academy and Chief Medical Officer at Sauk Prairie Healthcare, recently earned her MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Ledesma says her participation in the Leadership Academy played a major role in inspiring her to pursue her MBA, adding that the program “exposed me to leadership concepts and business strategies… that extended beyond clinical medicine and challenged me to think more broadly about health care systems, organizational culture and long-term strategy.”

Congratulations to Emplify Health by Bellin, Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Heroes for Healthcare and Brown County on launching a $200,000 Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation Talent Recruitment Grant to recruit medically trained veterans and veteran nurses to Northeast Wisconsin.
The initiative will help veterans transition their valuable skills into health care careers while strengthening Wisconsin's workforce and ensuring patients continue to have access to high-quality care.

Adams-Friendship High School - Reestablished their HOSA chapter, paid all member fees, had four members compete in regionals and held a Trunk or Treat at their high school.
Pittsville School District High School - Covered the membership dues for all students in the organization.
School District of Waupaca High School - Started a new chapter and now have 15 members, attended and competes at leadership conference, and more.
