Madison Reading Project is a literacy based nonprofit providing books and programs for vulnerable children in the greater Dane County area. We collect new and gently used books to give to vulnerable children and families along with partnering with many nonprofits and social workers.

The Dane County Board Supervisors are voting on whether to eliminate $50,000 in funding for our Little Readers program beginning November 2nd. 💔

We started this program 5 years ago to reach the most underserved kids in our community, many of whom fall through the cracks of book-mailing programs. This helps ensure families who aren’t eligible for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library still receive books.

So far this year, we have provided books to over 1,500 kids through local partnerships. 📚 We know how much this program means to families across Dane County, and we want to continue making sure every child has access to books and the opportunity to build a lifelong love of reading.
