Meet Danielle and Ashley, Family Service Specialists for Head Start at ICAP. These two ladies play an important role in ensuring families and children are reaching their goals inside and outside of the Head Start classroom. 🖍️

They go above and beyond to ensure Head Start children receive the comprehensive services that the program offers, while guiding families on their road to success.👣

For Danielle and Ashley, Family Service Specialist isn't just a title, it's a calling. The deep and genuine care they have for each family and child they encounter shines through in their work everyday. 💫

❤️ NO SENIOR SHOULD GO HUNGRY.

They are our neighbors. Our parents, aunts and uncles. Our friends.

They are the teachers who taught us, the coaches who encouraged us, the 4-H leaders who volunteered their time, and the people who helped build the South Dakota communities we call home.

Each year, Inter-Lakes Community Action Partnership's Senior Nutrition Program—known in many communities as 60's Plus Dining—serves more than 200,000 meals to older South Dakotans.

For many seniors, the requested $5 contribution for a meal is simply more than they can afford.

We believe their ability to contribute should never determine whether they receive a nutritious meal.

That's why we're asking South Dakotans to help us provide 20,000 meals for seniors who need our help.

🍽️ $5 helps provide 1 meal
🍽️ $35 helps provide a week of meals
🍽️ $150 helps provide a month of meals

ICAP serves communities across 19 South Dakota counties, working alongside local leaders, churches, nonprofits, Feeding South Dakota, volunteers, and many other partners to reach our neighbors where they live.

Now we're asking you to become part of that partnership.

Give a meal. Feed hope. Help take care of the people who have spent a lifetime helping take care of our communities.

Because of these volunteers' compassion and service, homebound seniors in Brookings are able to enjoy home delivered meals and real, human connection. Well deserved, Advance!🙌

The Brookings Area United Way's Volunteer United program congratulates the Advance Volunteers on being named the August 2026 Volunteer of the Month group!🎉

Over the past year, Advance volunteers have strengthened the Brookings community by delivering meals to local residents’ homes. Through their daily service, they provided older adults, homebound individuals, and others facing food barriers with reliable meals, wellness check-ins, and meaningful human connection.

Their dedication has reduced isolation, supported independent living, and improved quality of life for some of Brookings’ most vulnerable residents. Through compassion, connection, and service, these volunteers bring Advance’s mission to life by creating opportunities for people to live life to the fullest.
