JustDane JustDane helps transform lives and social systems to create a just and equitable community. We envision a community where everyone has a chance to succeed!

JustDane focuses on economic justice, addressing the underlying causes of poverty, homelessness, racial disparities in our criminal justice systems. We advocate for criminal justice system reforms, access to quality education for all children, access to fair and affordable housing, fair treatment of workers, and a government committed to the common good. We provide support for individuals returnin

g to the community from prison and support for children who have a parent who is incarcerated, including mentoring and transportation to Taycheedah prison once a month to visit mom. Our Circles of Support and Journey Home programs offer returning citizens additional support as they rebuild their lives. Just Bakery is a 16 week commercial baking training program that also assists with housing, job placement and ongoing support. Healing House provides a safe place for families struggling with homeless to recuperate after childbirth or medical treatment.

In honor of Juneteenth, our office will be closed as we take time to reflect, learn, and recognize a pivotal moment in American history.

Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, the day when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas - more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation - to announce that enslaved Black Americans were finally free. It is a celebration of liberation, but also a reminder of how long justice was delayed, and how the fight for true equity continues today.
