LHF is starting work on an online digital library available on a free platform called Issuu. At Issuu, users can read LHF translations online or download and save them for reading later on your private device. So far, LHF has provided books like "Jesus Never Fails" and "God's Word For You" in more than 20 languages like Spanish, French, Turkish, Swahili, Arabic and Chinese. More are being uploaded each week! Please share with your friends who might not have easy access to Lutheran materials in their languages!

The Lutheran Heritage Foundation has published the catechism in over 180 languages with dozens more requested. In the past decade, LHF has published and distributed over 2,000 titles and 6 million Lutheran books to pastors, seminary students, missionaries and churches – all at no cost to them.

Two. Hundred. Twenty. Thousand.

That's how many Swahili Small Catechisms were just delivered to the LHF offices in Nairobi, Kenya through a generous grant and collaboration with https://www.facebook.com/LCMSAfrica and Concordia Publishing House. Such a collaboration between Lutheran partners is a great blessing indeed! These catechisms (200,000 enchiridions and 20,000 Small Catechisms with Explanation) will be going into circulation throughout Swahili-speaking East Africa - especially Tanzania - shortly.

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!

While American Lutheran churches have a long tradition of holding Sunday school classes for their children, it's a relatively new practice in many parts of the world. Recently, Rev. Dr. Dinku Bato (who oversees LHF's work in Africa) traveled to Ethiopia and to South Africa to introduce and teach "A Child's Garden of Bible Stories" to Sunday school teachers there.

Pictured here are South Sudanese refugees living in Gambella, Ethiopia. In some cases, the teachers never attended Sunday school themselves, and so they don't have experience with knowing how to organize and teach a lesson.

Furthermore, the refugees live in extreme circumstances with few resources -- no colorful lesson pamphlets delivered each quarter or even a photocopier in the office to duplicate non-existent worksheets.

But through LHF's generous supporters, they now have one important resource: "A Child's Garden of Bible Stories," translated into the Nuer language!

Rev. Bato took the teachers through the basics, which were new to many:
1. Introduction - Lead prayers and introduce the lesson topic
2. Present the story. Lead the children in acting it out.
3. Sing a song related to the lesson.
4. Engage the students in a reinforcement activity like coloring or drawing the lesson's events.
5. Closing: Review the lesson and again lead the children in prayer.

Please keep these faithful Lutheran brothers and sisters in prayer as they lead God's littlest lambs to the Savior.

Rejoice with us that LHF has been accepted into the International Lutheran Council (ILC) as a service organization! The ILC is a growing worldwide association of nearly 5 dozen established confessional Lutheran church bodies; together, they seek to encourage, strengthen, and promote confessional Lutheran theology and practice centering in Jesus Christ in their churches.

Being a “recognized organization” of the ILC helps LHF connect to these confessional churches to share with them our good Lutheran translations in their languages. We look forward to productive conversations with these leaders to determine which translations would be most beneficial in faithfully proclaiming the Gospel in their home countries and to discover new skilled translators. LHF has published Luther's Small Catechism in yet another language: Icelandic! Please pray for Rev. Sakarias Ingolfsson, who has been sent to Iceland to faithfully share the Good News with a small but growing congregation of new Lutherans!

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas offers English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to community members who speak Spanish. They recently requested a wide variety of LHF's Spanish translations, including the Bible with Small Catechism, children's Bible storybooks, prayers books and devotion booklets.

Church leaders then shared these photos and words of thanks to all whose gifts and donations help make LHF's work possible:

"Here are some pics of our first distribution of them to some of our Monday night ESL students. Not everyone came tonight but everyone else accepted them with open hearts and where glad to receive them.

Thanks again to Lutheran Heritage Foundation for giving us the tools and resources to minister to the community through these resources. We are so grateful!

Here is what we shared with them tonight but in Spanish as we gifted them the Bible and prayer book:

Tonight, we want to give each of you a special gift a Bible and a prayer book donated to us by Lutheran Heritage Foundation. You come here each week to learn English, and we are very thankful that you are part of our ESL family. But our church wants to give you more than English lessons. We want you to know how much God loves you.

The Bible says: “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Psalm 119:105

A lamp helps us see where we are going. In the same way, God gives us His Word to guide us, encourage us, comfort us, and help us know Him.

This Bible is a gift from our church to you, but it reminds us of a much greater gift: God has given us His Word, and through His Word we come to know His greatest gift, Jesus Christ. Jesus loves you. He gave His life for you, He forgives you, and He promises to be with you.

We are also giving you a prayer book, which was also donated by Lutheran Heritage Foundation, because God not only speaks to us through His Word, He also invites us to speak to Him in prayer.

So, when you take these books home tonight, our hope is that you will not simply put them on a shelf. We invite you to open your Bible, to read it, and pray, ask questions and even bring it to class, let's talk about it. And when life is difficult or you don’t know which way to go, remember: 'Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.'

May God’s Word always be a light for your journey."

As wars rage on, LHF continues to translate and publish God's teachings for all nations, tribes and tongues because only God's Word can comfort troubled souls and turn angry hearts to peace.

Over the past months and years, we have shared on this page several different distributions to churches, children and military personnel in Ukraine. At the same time, LHF continues to translate and publish in Russia. We thank Rev. Alexander Furs, who gave of his time to distribute LHF publications at a recent public book fair in Russia.

Human conflicts come, and they go, "but the Word of the Lord endures forever." (1 Peter 1:25)

May God bring comfort to His children suffering from war, grant wisdom and the fear of the Lord to leaders, and bring a quick end to violent conflict. Lord, have mercy.

In the account of raising Jairus' daughter, Jesus said, "Little girl, I say to you, arise." Mark records His exact words: "Talitha Koum," in Aramaic, the language Jesus spoke. Could it be that it is recorded for us because it was the language most familiar to the little girl's ears, too? Jesus was speaking directly to her. She rose, awakened from death.

LHF wants kids all over the world to her Jesus' voice in the language that is very familiar to them, to be awakened to eternal life. Can you help?
