Today was a wonderful day for Kathy's Kindness!

We got to surprise a very sweet, hardworking boy with some school clothes, supplies, and a Target gift card. He braved the heat in his lemonade stand to help his mom with the cost of going back to school. His lemonade was delicious! 🍋👌.

Next stop was a call we received to help a family who needed to safely surrender their puppy. Everyone, meet Teddy. He is the happiest little guy 💓 We are going to vet him and foster and/or coordinate with the Humane Society of Macomb for placement. Until then, our family will love on him and make sure he is happy and healthy.

As we look ahead for our new year of planning, our hearts are exploding with gratitude for the amazing work that was done in 2023. We may be small, but with the help of the Cancer & Leukemia Center, The Metro Jets, and many of you reading this, we were mighty! 💪☀️ Thank you all so very much from the bottom of our hearts! Our mom, Kathy, is definitely proud of all that we accomplished! She will be right here with us in 2024 cheering us on! Here is a quick recap of our work in 2023!

❤️Kathy's Christmas Gifts 2023

🎄Completely fulfilled 6 wishlists for 6 children in foster care with the help of the Metro Jets ( Cherry Doss Milaszewski 🤗) and The Cancer & Leukemia Center. Thank you, Friends of Foster, for allowing us the honor to help!

🎄Provided Christmas gifts for 3 families who missed cut-off dates for Christmas assistance programs (5 children total).

🦌Family A asked for assistance due to medical complications and financial difficulty

🦌Family B needed help due to a recent layoff and financial difficulty.

🦌Family C asked for assistance due to medical event with their spouse which led him to be off of work for an extended period of time.

❤️We sponsored a foster child who graduated in 2023 and is hoping to attend college in the fall. We stocked him up with all the dorm room necessities and plus a bunch more!

❤️ Our Kids Committee raised funds with a garage sale to host The Squirrel Project Event to raise money for local animal shelters.

❤️Kids Committee Squirrel Project event where we raised over 1,000 dollars and 2 trunks full of needed items (food, treats, bones, toys, leashes, paper towels, etc) for two local rescues:

🐾DAWG Animal Rescue- care items and $500

🐾Humane Society of Macomb- care items and $500

❤️ Formula, diapers, clothing, and baby wipe donation to a new Foster mom who unexpectedly took in a family member.

❤️Monetary donation to a young family who experienced the tragic loss of a husband/father.

❤️Clothing and comfort item donation for a young family of 5 who lost everything in a house fire

Thank you to all who made this possible! Whether you forfeited your Pumpkin Spice Latte last month or sent in a donation somewhere in between then and now, it made such a HUGE impact! Cherry Doss Milaszewski, the Metro Jets players and their families have a special place in our hearts! We cannot thank you all enough for helping us fill wishlists!

A huge Thank You to Kathy's Kindness, with the help of community partners, especially the Metro Jets hockey teams, 6 youth's wish lists were sponsored. 💙
These children will be so happy Christmas day!! 💙

In 2023, all your donations went towards spreading Kindness in the community. We donated formula, diapers, and clothing to those in need. We sponsored a teen in foster care who is graduating, provided items to a family who lost their home, and a young family who experienced a tragic loss. Our kid’s committee supported two animal rescues with donations from our first Kathy’s Kindness event.

WE THANK YOU for your November Pumpkin Spice donations; we received $400.00!!! We want to keep the momentum going!! For those that donated already, we THANK YOU!! - And I ask you to share this post.

We kicked off Kathy’s Kindness Christmas 2022 and served eight families during the holiday season. This year, we are sponsoring six foster children for Christmas. Any remainder of donations will go towards last-minute shopping for families who may have experienced a traumatic event during the holidays or could not apply for assistance through other community programs.
