Project Girl Mentoring Program is a non profit organization providing mentoring, educational and social activities to young women throughout Snohomish County and its surrounding area. The overall goal of the program is to support girls as they develop positive choices while learning new life skills and help them transition into womanhood. We focus on the Positive Youth Development (PYD) approach t

o help girls acquire the skills and knowledge to become healthy and productive women. We offer creative programs that helps builds strengths and recognize each girls unique contribution to society. As, she discover herself inside a world of other ambitious and accomplished women.

Almost 25 years ago, I had an idea about creating an organization that would support teen girls and remind them that they mattered.

14 years ago, that idea became a Project Girl Mentoring Program. It started with one suitcase full of snacks and art supplies, a lot of heart, and a vision to create safe spaces for girls of color.

Today, Project Girl has grown into a thriving nonprofit that has supported more than 4,000+ young women of color.

We have navigated mentoring through a pandemic, school crises, changes in systems, funding challenges, and staff transitions. Through it all, we kept showing up for girls.

Over the years, we’ve built a community centered on mentorship and connection.

Our goal has always been the same: helping girls see their value and step into their power.

None of this happened alone. This work exists because of the mentors, staff, volunteers, families, partners, and community members who believed in the mission and poured into these girls year after year!!

As we celebrate 14 years of Project Girl, I’m reminded that what started with one suitcase turned into something much bigger than I could have imagined. 💜🩷🧡🩵

Juneteenth is around the corner and we’re bringing the culture, the music, the food, the people… all of it.

We’ll be gathering at Cedar Valley Community School for a day filled with music, vendor and resources

This year we are hosted by: Frederick Brooks of Sound Sports

Throughout the day there will be youth activities and performances!

Free and open to everyone!
